most painful rollercoaster

Old FoF was BRUTAL. And I never use caps, so that should tell you something right there.

I've only been on one hang'n'bang, and I didn't mind it so much (@SFWoA). I actually look forward to riding it with the new padding I've heard about.

I rode Chiller both sides GASM,Viper,Joker and a few SLC,s and they were all rough exept the new Robin but I never felt any pain getting off. One of the roughest coasters though and it may be the day I rode it was Batwing and Superman at SFA.

So many people said Magnum.... I rode it for the first time last October on closing weekend and didn't find it bad at all... (Maybe it was numbing wind chill factor that killed the pain?)

The roughest I've experienced is the Manhattan Express at NYNY, Las Vega$..... In true New York fashion...it mugs you and takes your money.

I'm going have to pick my Excalibur at Valleyfair. The ride is seem's so rough to me. Everytime I get off I always get head ake's. I may only ride it one or two times out of the season.

Excalibur? Really? Heck, there is another thread out there that is practically a love fest! ;) I like it quite a bit actually.

Corey, Windjammer wasn't anywhere near as bad as many would have you believe. The problem was the horrible downtime that the ride had. Trying to ride it in February or March was impossible, whatwith the winds and all. I never hated it. I didn't love it, by any means, but there were worse rides!

As I do recall, Knott's "main" complain with windjammer WAS the down-time. Ironically enough, down-time caused by minor WIND. WindJammer. Quite possibly the most ill-named coaster in history. That's like naming a wave pool "The Sahara Desert".

Another badly named ride is Goliath Jr. Not so much the name in itself, but the tag-line "The Giant Among Kiddie Coasters" that they attatch to it. It is one of the tiniest kiddie coasters I have EVER seen. It is much smaller and tamer than SFMM's other kiddie coaster Canyon Blaster & it has a MAX height limit. What a joke.

Lauer - M.E. @NYNY! I completely overlooked that one! I'd have to put that at a tie with Magnum for #3. Too bad M.E. is so rough, because it has the coolest element of any sit-down coaster I've ridden. The heart-line dive! And if I am correct, it is the ONLY sit down that has this element. Too bad it's so hard on the noggin. And the WALLET!

I would agree that RWB is one of the bumpiest coasters in existence, but it's not a PAINFUL ride. Its just bumpy.

I would have to say The BOSS. By the way if most people here like wood coasters best why does it matter if a steel is smooth or not?

...because a rough steel coaster with OTSRs will knock your head around like you were in a heavyweight bout. Rough wooden coasters seem to take it out on your back or legs, at least.

I did not mean to dis the RWB or anything. It's a good fast ride, it's just REALLY rough. It did throw me around quite a bit. That's all :-).

Not that I was defending the ride...just noting that, although it was extremely bumpy it wasn't a "painful" experience. There is a difference between bumpy and PAIN causing. Now, Psyclone and Flashback---those actully HURT you when you ride. ;)

I was at KI sevral times that year and never gave that thing another ride. I understand that it is a little smoother now so the next time I get to KI, I will give it one more chance to be enjoyable.

Mean Streak at CP. If you ever go and ride it, never take the front seat, it absorbs the most shock.

i have to say Cyclone at SFNE was the most painfull thing i ever rode. The Chiller at SFGADV, although with lap bars, is still a little painfull.
