Im the #1 Canobie Lake Park Fan!!!These are my top 3 coasters:
1. S:RoS @ SFNE 2. Yankee Cannonball 3. Cyclone

Formally known as Millenium Force29, Alpengiest is the best!
ok. For Cedar Point, Mean Streak is a great ride, i don't think its painful at the least bit! Mantis is a great ride if ur an extremist. Magnum xl200, well, lets just say that its one of my favorites.
All of the Mind Erasers (sfne), serial thriller (sfwoa), and so on, are not painful if u know how to ride them. Same with rides such as gasm at sfgadv, and batman and robin the chiller.

PKI's FoF when it had the lapbars one....It beat me up so bad!
And Definetly Raging Wolf Bobs....I messed my butt up....literaly
I will agree that some of these rides are rough but most of them are still fun. I am a though guy when it comes to coasters however when I rode SOB the first year it was built, it REALLY hurt. I can accept most rough rides like MS, Beast, FOF, Gwazi, Viper at SFGAdv, and the others but SOB scared me.
SOB even broke the roll of quarters in my pocket apart.
I was at KI sevral times that year and never gave that thing another ride. I understand that it is a little smoother now so the next time I get to KI, I will give it one more chance to be enjoyable.

Magnum, hands down. The crew always has to push the lap-bar down as far as they can on me, and im a tall person, it kills my legs on every bunny-hop. I havent enjoyed a ride on that since before i hit 6'2". ('91,'99) The most painful woodie ive ever been on is SOB but its an awsome coaster, i always ride it atleast 5 times when i go.

PKI Vortex
PKI flight of fear
PKD shockwaveIf u ask me it's just the paramount rides , but the original beast has got to be my all time favorite woodie, so far

Lets see.........
SoB can be painful at time but you hafta know where too sit. the best seat on the ride is deffinately 6-2. I recently took my friend on that seat and he hated SoB before, and now he likes it! But new trains would make the ride sooooo much better.
I agree that Vortex does hurt, if you're short. A few years ago it did hurt me and I didn't like it. Another thing is it's probably one of the smoother Arrow loopers.
Flight of Fear is rough? You obviously haven't ridden it sense the OSTR's were take off. It's a lot better now.
Oh, and dexter, you probably shouldn't have a roll of quarters in your pocket while riding any coaster!

It's his turn to feast, when you ride the Son of Beast.

Rattler at SFFT.
Matches and lighter fluid would be the best improvement.

New coasters in 02 so far: SE,GW(SWSA) SKC Rattler, RoadExp,Boomerang:CtC(SFFT)
Mantis at CP was extremely uncomfortable for me (I'm just short/tall enough that I was fine until the top of the turnaround after teh chain lift when the seat clicked up one notch higher and I was on the balls of my feet the entire ride.
The SFGAdv crew is mostly correct above (with so many coasters, and the biggest seasonal only attendance count, you'd think they'd take better care of them!). Rolling Thunder used to be a good ride, and I even was fine with the roughness, but those stupid seat dividers for anyone who weighs more than 120 pounds at 5'5" means that you never actually sit down. Viper has newspaper wrapped steel bars on your shoulders that beat you up around the heartline roll. The Chiller is a good ride, but the rough treatment you got with the shoulder harnesses going back through the corkscrew meant red ears (or worse).
