Down in Indianapolis, there hasn't been one single mention of Maverick's delayed opening in 'the media'. Hell, I had to be the one to alert some friends that were going to CP opening weekend about Maverick's delay the day before they planned to leave. They had absolutely no idea there was any delay.
What? I thought the house of representatives in each state capital met to discuss the horrid choice of CP choosing Intamin again, and voted on how this latest situation changed CP's reputation for all time?
Now the whole world has their eyes on this blog.
Perhaps Cedar Point can salvage their "rep" after all...
LOL..

Fate is the path of least resistance.
Thoughts????
1. We know that they kept running the ride after the announcement that the track was going to be replaced. So knowing that;
2. What is the difference of approving the ride, and then changing the track.
Think of it this way, coasters (both wood and steel) do track replacement all the time. Is the law written in such a way to state something to the effect of 'replacing track for general maintenance doesn't require the ride to be recertified', or does a 're-design' require a re-certification?
I am guessing that Steel Phantom required a re-inspection after the reconfiguration. Maybe it didn't?
Just wondering....
I don't know if it's CF's policy, their insurer's policy or who's-what-where, but the ride will have to run numerous complete circuits before it's ready for the public.
Both of Renegade's trains were installed 5/3, the park opened to the public 5/12 and word is they ran the ride day and night to get the required number of runs.
Mind you--that was for a ride with two trains, not six. A chain-lift, not LSMs. And in a state with no regulatory office to sign off before boarding riders.
So while 6/1 isn't impossible? It's close enough to it to get the nay-no.

Good point. Beyond just checking G's, the timing of the ride may change, too, depending on how high the new element is (and thus, how long the new element will take to traverse). I'd imagine this is important information for ride operators and the ride itself to understand. In fact, timing is probably especially important on Maverick since it duels itself.
Of course, I'm sure they've had a pretty good idea of what to expect in these areas before the old track was even removed.

Thanks for putting them on here.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
In previous blog entries and the notice to the public it was stated that three sections would be replaced with new "S-curve" pieces. In today's blog entry they said "... to accept a shipment of four new sections of rust-colored track."
Did they suddenly change how many sections need to be changed or is four sections replacing thre?e
