Kings Islands New Coaster...What could it be??

If I want to ride a dark ride, then I go to Orlando. PKI should just let the Orlando folks stick to the dark rides and build themselves some massive coaster.
I just came up with a cool concept. how about Son of Kenton Cove's Keelboat Canal, the world's tallest, fastest, and only looping log flume. They'll build that and the world's biggest scrambler.
Note:this post was complete sarcasm.
How about the world's first scrambler drop ride? Ride a classic style scrambler up to 200+ ft stop and drop. What a rush. ;)

Okay granted we are talking about parks, but isn't the parent company of Kings Island Paramount? Which is in turn part of the conglomeration Viacom? I think that they have collectively MORE than enough money to compete with Disney...and furthermore, does Universal even own USF, USH, and IOA? Last I heard, they were owned by Segrams (the liquor company).

"I sure hope not.

Reason being, it took a hundred million bucks to build Spiderman. PKI could spend, at the most, twenty. And that would be their most expensive ride ever.

wow. you sure do seem to know everything about PKI's finances. I am impressed. So, are you one of PKI's accountants? That surely must be how you know all about it.

So does anyone have any clue when Paramount`s Kings Island will be anouncing next year`s ride. I`ve heard reports of late June, I guess we`ll just have to wait and see.

Right, Universal is not owned by Universal. Go figure. Word on the street is that, pending various licensing agreements, the Universal Orlando parks will be owned by someone else.

That's all I have to say about that.

What ?
Spiderman is indeed a long shot. For one, what would it be about if it is based in Rivertown, an old west town? If they do get a coaster (notice IF) then I am thinking they will take a tip from Silver Dollar City when they built Wildfire. Base it on some extravagant scientist/ person from the old west. You never know.

How much did Expedition Ge-Force cost??? I am sure Kings Island has plenty of money to invest in something simaler to that!

Life is short, make it count...
Wow. My opinion really caused a reaction.

I think everyone knew what I meant about "The Disneys and Universals of the world." Let's not parse words.

And I also think that everyone here is smart enough to know that PKI won't spend $100,000,000 on a ride. If they do build a dark ride, it would have to be a less expensive version. All I said was that I wouldn't want to see them do that if they could use the same money for a quality coaster.

Down, boys.
PKI, due to it being a season park, probabily wont get anything over 20 mil. I would love to see a good darkride like spiderman, but its not open enough to display the ride. From what I have heard from sources (not cross referenced, but 3 different people have pointed it out to me), there is a crane laying low by the Beast. I personally havent seen it, but 2 park employees and one other person have said this. try to look for it

There is one way to find out about that crane. It sounds to be whirly bird time!
From what I`ve heard, consturction is not supposed to start up again on the KCKC site until after the 4th of July. Where is this "crane" located at? I hopefully will be going to PKI tomorrow, and will try and find it if I know where to look. I can`t wait until they anounce this ride. Knowing my luck they`ll anounce it after next week, when I`m on vacation at Myrtle Beach and Paramount`s Carowinds.

But why would a Spiderman type ride cost Paramont a 100mil? If I'm not mistaken, the majority of that money was not spent on *building* the ride system, but rather the research and development of the ride vehicles. However, that technology is now known, so a large portion of that price can be discounted.

Furthermore, if they want a high tech dark ride, then that is what they will get, damn the cost. I mean CP could have gotten 4 good CCIs for what they spent on Millie, but they wanted the biggest coaster to date, so that's what they got.

Remember the rumor that PKI wants to be more family oriented. That would lend more credibility to a family thrill ride rather than a hyper-looper.

I am against an indoor Dark Ride at PKI. If the park add's this type of ride next year I won't add it as a stop on my coaster trip. Now if PKI added a new terrain hyper coaster I would defiantly make a trip to the park.

If PKI's new ride/coaster is supposed to be themed to Tomb Raider, we better cross our fingers and hope it's a hit for their sake.

Danny, who notes that Paramount has had a great year so far in theatres in the #1 position beating both Disney and Universal

yeah if they build a dark ride that IMO would be a waste of money. Action FX Theater is good enough. And if it was a dark ride know how much Beast would be ruined by this big building right next to the helix. I would rather hear a B&M roar when goin down the helix rather than see this big boring building.
