I loves me some B&M Inverted. A really well done, updated take on the design would go a long way towards making me give a crap about my home park.
Last B&M Inverted in the US was Patriot in 2006. Before that Silver Bullet in 2004. So this would amount to just the 3rd in the US in a decade.
Gonch, I'm surprised by that. I mean, they do nice hypercoasters, but besides the hypercoasters, I'd guess that the inverts are the most successful in terms of crowd satisfaction. The flyers are slow-loading and uncomfortable, the stand-ups are hit or miss, and with the exception of Kraken, the floorless coasters are meh. completely with you on the B&M invert love. I think it would be a good move for KI, especially if they made it as good as Montu, Talon, or Raptor. I just like to see that coasters in Cedar Fair are going up pretty frequently!

As I said long ago, I really feel like it's going to be a giga coaster, and probably a B&M akin to Leviathan. It just seems so Cedar Fair. Cedar Point and the other 2 major Paramount parks have one, and KI is one of the top parks in the chain. Giant 300+ foot coasters just get so much attention, and it only seems fitting to replace a coaster of massive scale with one of even greater scale.
I hope they don't do this though. I've been on Leviathan, and I still feel that 1 B&M hyper-style coaster is enough in a park. There are better options out there that are simply more fun. But regardless of the route they take, it should be an exciting 2014 at KI with a new iconic coaster for the park.
I'd be really surprised if it were anything but an invert.
Sign reads: "Due to the increasing occurance of mysterious and bone-chilling screams, it has become necessary to close this section of the park until the cause of this evil phenomenon can be identified."
The screams likely are originating from the tortured souls of SoB's victims from years gone bye. I thought that's why they closed that section of the park and removed the evil phenomenon already.
I admit to viewing Leviathan's addition as being nothing more than an attempt to throw in a massive e-ticket attraction with great capacity. It sucks from a creativity standpoint because I enjoy variety, but really, a B&M speed coaster is perhaps the ultimate capacity machine. Of course, creativity qualms aside, I love both Behemoth and Leviathan and view both as some of the finest examples of their genre, so whatever complaints I have are minimal at best.
All that said, while a B&M giga would be epic, I would love to see a sick invert thrown in there a la Alpengeist. KI has some excellent terrain, and I would like to see it go to good use. One thing the bigger of the former Paramount Parks lacked was a quality B&M mega-looper, and with the absolutely outstanding addition Dominator is to the KD lineup, I would like to think that an invert would fill a similar role just as nicely at KI.

I'd be surprised if it was a Giga. I just don't see it happening. Of course, I'm hoping for an updated invert.

I'm not an Alpengeist fan. My tastes run more toward Talon or Afterburn.
I wasn't all that excited by Alpengeist, either. The theme was kind of cool, but even Great Bear is more fun to me.

I understand. You're entitled to your opinions, no matter how colossally wrong they might be. ;)
Batman-The Ride is actually my favorite invert (well, my favorite coaster, period). I'm just saying that KI has the terrain to play with, and I think it'd be a shame to let it go unused.

Well that just has Scooby Doo written all over it. Don't tell me they're gonna bring "The worlds tallest, fastest Ghoster Coaster."
But I'll contribute this much in seriousness... If the fence is already up, and the teasers have already started, before opening day even, then something big must be happening. I'm sure plenty of examples exist, but none that I can think of offhand, where "next year's coaster" gets teased so early.

Now there's something Gonch and I can agree on. Talon/Patriot is one of my favorite rides of all time. Certainly one of, if not my favorite, B+M's.

Aww. See, Great Bear is the only one I'd put under Alpengeist. It's probably my least favorite. I don't know why. I think it feels a little too "wander-y" for me. (which is probably the appeal for others)
Alpengeist, I think, is too big for it's own good. We've said that a lot around here. I feel like it lacks the 'snap' that makes the inverteds so much fun.
Talon definitely does it for me. Afterburn (Top Gun) is probably mostly a little bit better but it just kind of dies at the end. If that last little helix was like a corkscrew or something, it'd be nonstop. After that, Fire Dragon (or whatever it's called under Harry Potter) ranks right up there. That's where my taste in B&M Inverteds lands.
But the worst B&M Inverted Coaster is still better than a lot of what's out there. They're just fun. :)
