Kings Island Flight Deck Roller Coaster Question

I'm getting ready to take a trip to kings island next month, and i am curious about the Flight Deck coaster. I am overweight 300 + pounds. My weight isn't distributed over my body.. i carry all of my weight on my stomach, so i have a very large stomach that makes it impossible to ride any ride. I've never attempted the Flight Deck, but i can't ride a couple other coasters in KI. To give you an idea of what rides i can fit, i CANNOT ride an Eyerly Monster. I waited in line for over an hour my last KI visit only to find out that they couldn't get the seat to close. But.. i can ride the viking fury, water logs, congo falls, surf dog, e.t.c. My chest is 55 inches, with a very large stomach that doesn't get along with lap bars. Would i be able to ride the Flight Deck, is it accommodable?

Flight deck uses OTSRs. A decent picture is here:

The question is whether your belly protrudes out to the point the OTSR cannot come down far enough to lock. I remember the seats being relatively deep... bucket-y, so you may have a chance, but you'll have to look at that pic and decide for yourself. I don't think a test seat is available for this ride. If I had to guess, I'd say the monster is tighter than FD, but it's been a while since I've been on on monster.

Kaelan, I think your "brother(s)" have already made enough threads about you.

Notice the different user names posting eerily similar content over and over the last several months:

All these threads are about Kings Island, similar writing style, use the word "accommodable," mention being over 300 lbs with weight on the stomach, etc. There are plenty more similar threads that I didn't list. Detective Jeph doesn't think this is all a coincidence...

This is a coaster website, am i right? I've never been on this website before, i just recently created an account. Even if i did, why would that bother you? You must really want to be a detective, because if you remember things that were posted months ago, and are trying to connect the dots on who posted what, then dude... you need a hobby. BADLY. I asked this question because i am taking a trip to KI next month, i didn't ask to play detective.. i simply wanted an answer to my question.

Don't be so defensive. You don't have to be a detective around here to know that Talon1189 has posted, even many more times than Jeph listed, the same question over and over about whether or not his overweight brother, (you know, the one who "carries his weight in his stomach"), can ride. Cedar Point, Kings Island, Dollywood, Holiday World, blah blah blah.

I also instantly though you were the brother or maybe even the same poster, come back around yet again with the same question. And I still do. I see some poorly veiled attempt to get attention around the same subject.

Many of us have very kindly attempted to answer this question each and every time it's been asked. The honest answer is nobody knows for sure how you'll fare, everybody carries their weight differently. Rides of the same manufacture and type tend to be the same from park to park, so if you've been tossed at one park you'll probably be tossed at the next one. And I'm sure the park itself is better versed on their policies than we are.

My question to you is, why on earth would you wait over an hour to ride the Monster? Seriously?

Oh. And welcome to Coasterbuzz.

No one here can give you a definitive answer. If there is a test seat (Pretty sure there isn't one for Flight Deck), use that, but otherwise you pretty much have to chance it.

Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.

"Chancing it" on Flight Deck means (typically) spending about 10 minutes walking and 5 minutes or less in line to find out.

Given the OTSRs, I think the chest dimension may be what prevents you from riding - but it's SUCH a good ride, I'd find out for sure before giving up...

Do not accuse me of something that i am not responsible for. Why would i waste my time to go around posting on different threads about my supposed "overweight brother"? I'm not sure if your friend Talon1189 still posts on here or not, but i hope that he does. Just to give you guys a little bit of excitement in your lives, to give you and your buddy Jeph a chance to play CoasterBuzz detectives. Have fun guys, and get to the bottom of it!

If you joined this site just to pick a fight, you chose poorly.

These questions come up over and over again. The solution to these problems isn't easy, but it sure is obvious. So if it sounds like we've got "too big to ride" fatigue, we do.

Actually Jeff.. i had a fulfilling sleep last night, so i'm not very tired. But thank you for your concern, it's greatly appreciated. Have you lost something? Because i think that i found your nose.. it was where it shouldn't be.

Did you take his nose metaphorically? I tried that on a random 4 year old before. She started crying. But seriously, I don't think Jeff is trying to or is be(ing) nosey.

When snarkiness goes wrong it's so satisfying.

Go reread Jeff's comments. He was actually being sort of apologetic...and certainly more delicate about the topic than this site is known for.

Kaelan, let me clarify something. Our response to you was based off of the fact that we've been through similar situations numerous times in the past where the same people, often under multiple usernames, ask the same questions over and over. Your question in particular was one that was famous for the amount of times it popped up as well as the inability for someone to be able to answer it without you and a test seat present. Being a bit more specific with your search criteria on whatever site led you here, or even using the search feature on this site, likely would have given you the info that's already available.

Ultimately, we're not trying to be difficult. It's just that we've been here before, and Jeph got a little curious.

If all these threads about a guy going to Kings Island in July that's over 300 lbs (all stomach) that have been popping up persistently over the last several months are not connected in any way, then I apologize...and probably should go play the lottery.

"Detective Jeph" was intended to be read in jest.

Reading the original post was another deja vu moment (and I was obviously not the only person feeling this way). I did a search to confirm I wasn't crazy, and the results were what I expected.

Notice this thread title by Kaelan:

"Kings Island Flight Deck Roller Coaster Question"

then this thread title by AaronBennett:

"Kings Island Backlot Stunt Coaster Question"

Both these threads ask whether or not they'll fit. Then, compare these poster's posts. They both don't capitalize "i" unless it's at the start of a sentence. They put 2 periods after words like "But.." They mention Viking Fury and use the word "accommodable."

There are many similarities to talon1189's repeating posts as well. The good news is that they're all going to Kings Island next month, so maybe these repeating threads will come to an end.

Why mention any of this? First off, these thread coincidences are bizarre and I was hoping for a simple explanation. Secondly, I'm tired of clicking on misleading thread titles and finding the same question over and over. Coasterbuzzers have been consistently kind in trying to provide answers, but the question has no definite answer. As RCMAC pointed out, everyone carries their weight differently. If you get denied from riding, don't feel embarrassed or upset, feel motivated: "Next year I WILL ride this..."

I can honestly say that i have NEVER posted on this website before. However, i can see why you think that i have. I have read the threads, and i can admit that they are VERY similar, not identical but similar. I am not going to go on and on trying to get all of you keyboard warriors to believe me, because quite frankly, i don't care if you do or not. I created an account on CB to find out an answer to my question and i appreciate the people who have actually ANSWERED MY QUESTION instead of bitching about who did what.

Wow you people really do come off as jackasses; I'm remembering all the bad things said about the regular members in that thread a few weeks ago that said Carrie was 'mean.' I don't know who this fat guy (that probably won't fit into Flight Deck's seats) is, but I'm not about to proposition that he's some lurker with five accounts. Give the guy a break!
