2 parks to pick from?

In July 2013.......my 300 pound "mostly stomach" brother and I will be picking an amusement part to go to. Kings Island or Holiday World and the Voyage? He is a big boy and needs to fit into the seats. He just got into Thunderhead at Dollywood at Christmas time barley on a prayer.....LOL! He loves wooden coasters that ride rough......that is his opinion....Haha. I figured that he would love the BEAST as it was always my favorite in the "80's" We are old in our mid "50's" and do not want to wait in line and prefer the "Fastlane" or similar. Does Holiday World offer the "Fastlane" or similar? We are older and cannot see the offering on their website. Would Kings Island be better for the bigger people as mentioned? I do realize that this is a slow time on this site to ask this kinda question? Would my 300 pound brother fit into the Voyage and the other 2 wooden coasters at Holiday World???? The last choice is to tell him to lose about 25 pounds.....LOL! .....He ain't gonna do that likely......LOL! What do you all suggest? Thanks!

I'm a little disturbed that this question comes up just about every few weeks. It's disturbing because the question shouldn't be about whether or not you can ride if you're overweight, it should be what you can do about it. Riding a roller coaster is a nice perk of being in better shape, but carrying less weight around and being healthier should be the more important outcome.

I'm more disturbed by the lack of important questions.

If I'm a 300 pound guy, it's not about which park has more 'big boy' seating, it's about which park has the better funnel cake and deep fried stuff. And, just as importantly, which has the shortest distance between the aforementioned stands.

Pfft. Let's get our priorities straight here.

bog:

1. wet, spongy ground consisting of decomposing vegetation, which ultimately forms peat

2. an area of such ground

3. a place or thing that prevents or slows progress or improvement

4. a slang word for lavatory

5. slang (Austral) the act or an instance of defecating

Now which definition of "bog" were you inferring here? If #4, I guess that would be very easily accessible. If #1, I'd recommend Knoebels after a hurricane.

Heh. Typo.

"big boy"

Lemme go fix that real quick.

And oddly enough, I'd have gone with #5. Don't judge me! (or look at my browser history)

Actually, I would like to visit at least one of these parks in the next two years (I think this year is SFNE and BGE), and I have a question: does Holiday World allow smoking anywhere? I thought I remembered seeing that they do not allow smoking, period, and until I lose more weight, I am not quitting (one thing at a time...wanna get down to about 130 so when I quit smoking, the weight gain will put me back to this size). If I am still smoking, I hope to be doing so at a much less frequent rate, so it might not be that big of a deal, but if I get to go THIS summer, it will be an issue.

Except the original, apparently ;)

The amusement park rises bold and stark..kids are huddled on the beach in a mist

And not this one^^...

Tee hee!

I usually don't vote up the first post.

To answer your question, yes, there are a handful of designated smoking areas throughout the park.

Even if I don't agree with a post, if I enjoyed reading it, I click "Vote up". I like that feature just so I can show my support without having to make a stupid comment like "Me too."

As for the fat thing, I'm not huge, but I lost 30 pounds in just a few months about a year ago. It's not that hard, if you just put your mind to it. Just drink more delicious water or Diet Rite instead of sugary Coke and lower your portions a little bit more. I will admit that I have gained another 10 since then. I need to put my mind to losing another 30 pretty soon.

It's okay, Travis. I can't seem to get back on track on Weight Watchers...been holding steady at 28-30 lbs loss though. Wanna lose at least another 20, but I fear for my life on Phoenix at this year's PPP if I lose much more. Hehehe...

I think Kings Island is the best way to go. I agree if you like coasters then loose the weight to fit in them. Holiday World as no kind of fast lane program that I know of. You may have a slim chance ...(no pun intended), to fit into Diamondback and possibly vortex. KI has a variety of coasters to choose from. It does have the eiffel tower, windseeker, wave swinger and the train. Possible flats that may not be a problem. Try the test seat on diamondback and others if they have them. KI's fast lane does include some flats also that you may be able to ride. Won't know unless you try.

Sky's the limit.
