I think Stan just likes having it as "his Park" which would explain why he tried to run things even when someone else was running the park.

^Exactly. I do feel sorry for him though, because it was his for 50 years, and he probably doesn't want to see changes happening.

So why invite changes?

Still, you can't live forever, so why not let someone have the park that actually wants to keep it an amusement park?
