WWW, Bell's, AND Joyland is simply too much for the region to lose...

Not only is the region losing parks they had, they're losing parks they didn't have!

Signed sealed delivered. I didn't go there all the way from Nashville for nothing.

07/31/07- 1.Today we delivered the Support Joyland Amusement Park Petition with 774 signatures.This after only eight days of gathering signatures.This number will only grow.I hope the city will talk with Michael/Robert and work things out.everyday the park sits empty and unused we all loose.Keep having people sign the online petition and we will keep gathering signatures.
2. Here is the response I received from Mayor Carl Brewer and Jim Skelton:

I would be happy to meet with them if they had requested a meeting with me the only person thats asking for help on this project is(Chris Cane).We/I want joyland open just as you do but the owners must have a workable plan,I'm willing to do all that I can within the law to help.But everyone must keep in mind the city has many projects that are city owned and and we must make those a priority first.Have the OWNERS call me at 268-4331.
Jim Skelton: For anything to happen with Joyland the Owners or their agent must contact me.

So what do the owners have to say in response to this?

Not sure Im still working on getting contact info for them(if you mean the Nelsons).I havent heard from Michael/Robert yet.

Who does the city want to hear from... who do they see as the "owners"? The Nelsons or Michael & Robert?

Im not sure .I asked the Mayor but he hasnt answered yet.

Tomorrow is the big day . wish us luck. Hopefully this acn be a turning point.

It's so tough to make sense of it all (and that's no insult to Chris, who has explained this to me as best he could.) I think reading a manual on how to dismantle my car and put it back together would be easier than figuring out what is going on with Joyland. Anyway, best of luck Chris. Please keep us posted.

Or even worse, knocking them down. Too much "loss" lately. Bell's, Joyland, Geauga Lake, Astroland, Playland's darkrides...

Even with all the loss there are some rays of hope. The carousel and coaster at Libertyland were saved by a dedicated group.With people like Michael and Robert behind Joyland I still hold hope for it.If it were up to the Nelsons it would continue its descent into rot and ruin.

That's too bad. Any chance that the park will be offered on eBay again if things turn sour? I know a potential buyer, but it would mean the park leaves Kansas...

Not sure . the way the Nelsons treated David Rohr and Michael and Robert It really seems like they dont want to sale the park at all.
