Intimidator(s) updates

I didn't realize that Keith did the renderings. How long has he been doing renderings on that level? I've always been a fan of his work. The professional artist's interpretation based on what data he receives seems logical.

If I had to guess, 90% of the animation commissioned by parks in the last eight years came from him.

And the other 10% come from the terribly inferior no-limits. Given the price of the ride and the advertising budget, I can't imagine that the difference between no limits and badnitrus is worth the skimping.

^I think the increasingly online nature of the world around us has convinced parks of that, which is why Jeff gave the 90% figure. We (i.e., those of us here) argued for Keith's animation early on because we were "web enabled" somewhat sooner than many others, and because we appreciated the substantial difference in quality. Now, I think parks are more likely to view their web-presence as more of an essential part of any advertising campaigns...

I remember the first thing that really grabbed my attention were his renderings of Millennium Force at night back in late 1999 or early 2000!
It gave us all the chance to take our first ever lap on MF.

Don't get too excited about the lack of OTS on Intimidator. Someone over at KDFansite found a picture of Speed Monster and it didn't have the straps on it during pullthrough.

Anyone here going to Carowinds opening day for their Intimidator? I'll be there.

So, here is the picture of the test seat. I jumped the gun on posting that there were no otsr's. It was later confirmed that the cars aren't shipped with the nylon straps. There is slink in the comments showing a photo of the intamin ball Coaster in Spain. Those ARE the restraints going on the ride.

Actually, the link to a great photo of the restraints is right in the comments under the test seat photo - no searching necessary.

Waaah...there doesn't appear to be anything to bang one's head! Now I've got nothing to complain about!

I can still bang my head against my riding partner's!

Yeah, I figured that out after the fact.

My edit was changing the link to go directly to the photo - which doesn't seem to require a facebook account. Go figure.

This is the image I wanted to link to. But, I had forgotten where I put it.

Would you still not bang your neck on those?

Not complaining...I personally don't have much of a problem with any of Intamin's restraints. I just don't see why these would possibly be any better...if not worse? It seems to me that these straps may feel more restricting and cause a more painful "slicing" sensation when your neck comes in contact with them. (I guess this would mainly a problem with smaller riders.)

Ever run or jump with a heavy backpack on?

Either way, they are an improvement over the metal/plastic things we are so used to.

They still will restrict your movement and be annoying and rub against you...
