If you could own your hometown park....

That could work too, but I was trying to stay with the Action Zone theme. :)

yeah yeah...some of those were your plans, but most of the plans i posted were the ones i initiated (even if you helped put more ideas in) and if you don't know who i am, then i propose tearing down your excalibur.

Now see 'dalton' that just wouldn't be cool.  Don't be mean man, Ex is a thing of beauty and a great great ride.

Excalibur Crew for 2002!
i was just kidding, you know how i feel about ex.
Yeah, I know how you feel about Ex, but I don't know how many people would jump on our love fest for the coaster.

I was just thinking if it'd be feasible to expand the park North (looking from HWY 101) toward the river.  What do you think?

Excalibur Crew for 2002!

This is for La Ronde:

Year 1: Sell Boomerang to Walibi Schroumph or Visionland. Get rid of the dark ride and move the Vekoma Sky Flyer next to Orbite. Add a Standard Vekoma Invertigo next to Orbite and the break dance.

Year 2: Add a Morgan or Arrow hypercoaster where the station and ending whould be located where the Boomerang, Sky Flyer, dark ride and Vekoma Corkscrew were (sell the corkscrew to a small park in south america). The bulk of the ride whould go behind Monstre.

year 3: General improvements: Add a flat ride (KMG Afterburner) in the back of the park. Add a Batman Thrill spectacular in the huge, empty theater (Jardin des Étoiles), with decent show writers and stuntmen!

Year 4: Reprofile Cobra (which whould have been renamed Joker's Jinx, the Top Spin, Riddler's and Vampire, Batman) to add a flat spin after the midcourse brakes. Get GCI to reprofile and restructure Monstre. Add Vekoma or Millennium Flyers trains to Monstre.

toward the river, it's practically the only direction to go, but if you listen closely "toward the river" doesn't exactly sound so feasible anymore.

Me?! Own SFGAm?! WHOHOO!!!

hehe...I've got BIG plans...

1st year:

1. Take out the kiddie areas for intertwining floorless coasters. hehehe...

2. Rename "Giant Turd" to "Dynamite Dive" and repaint it burgandy down from the stop point and paint the top black.

3. The Space Shuttle goes down with the go-kart track as we bring back the Grandstand for major concerts and events again!

4. The garden in Hometown Park, the Whizzer, and the Hometown Fun Machine are removed to make an LIM Superman called Escape from Chicago. Theme ride post-apocalyptic.

5. The center of the roof covering Chubasco will be removed for a sunroof.

6. River Rocker will be removed and placed where the Power Dive had sat. It will be renamed the Power Dive. In the void, the Eagle will be extended for a triple helix turn with a giant USA Flag in the middle of the helix.

7. The Looney Tunes Play Area will now be home to a Stealth named MAcHS (Mega Accelerating Heart-Stopper), a purple and orange flyer.

8. The Cartoon Network Play Area will now be home to Backdraft, an X clone colored white and black.

9. The Shockwave will get a 3 loop add-on, the hill will be removed so it can be launched hydraulicly through a batwing.

2nd year:

Repaint Deja Vu Yellow and Crimson, theme train as oriental dragon, rename Chinese Torture.

Stain Viper a darker brown, retheme station from warehouse to saloon. Name Outlaw.

3rd year:

Add one concession stand next to each coaster 200 ft or higher. Those waiting in line get hungry after a while.

Add Chaos where Fiddlers Fling stands

Put the Eagle Cable Cars back into commision to go around whole park with two stations. Name Scenic Skyway.

Take out Ameri-Go-Round, replace with brought-back Hay Baler so people can see it for a change!

4th year - Close off the two towers of V2 with giant metal silos and have strobe lights flashing on the inside.

5th year - build identical V2 that has a second station perpendicular and below the original station in the water with same giant silos of V2. Name the Supernova Tsunami.

6th year. Build a giant ground wall and implant a roller coaster into the wall in Southwest Territory. Theme as a climbing expedition. Call Canyon Slider.

My work here is done.

Take it up a notch, Mr. Operator! I wanna feel my brains in my feet!

Since my home parks are SFWoA, CP, and I guess PKI, and all of you have provided great ideas for them (thanks John Peck)and for other properties, I would venture out into virgin territory and buy a park that I've never been to like...let's say...Visionland, Jazzland, Aventureland (Iowa), or even Camden Park.

To walk through blindly and see what the park is like, then mentally picture what you would like to do with that property.

Most chains don't know much about their newly acquired properties before they purchase them. All they want to see are potential numbers of guests and possible income. For me, that may be important, but also I would want to be surprised by what my efforts have generated.

SFWoA: An Unofficial Guide
http://sfohio.tripod.com

If I owned VisionLand (a then debt free park), I would:

Year 1: Add a family attraction such as a car ride (aka Hanson Cars at SFOG), increase the shading all over the park, work on some themeing, keep prices about the same, continue offering re-rides on slow ride.

Year 2: Their waterpark is pretty crappy, so I would add a couple of the little gysers like the ones at PKD's waterpark, add a wave pool and a MasterBlaster type slide.

Year 3: time for a steelie. I would add something like a mine train or a wild mouse (more like PKD's or PCW's than BGW or PC's). I would add a 60 foot slide similar to Run a Way River at SFWW.

Year 4:Cosmetic Changes, re-tracking, re-painting, etc.

Year 5:Time for some flats; a froghopper and swing for the kiddies, a Huss Trioka for famlies, a Huss Top Spin and a themed Shoot the Chutes (aka Escape from Pompeii at BGW).

Alpengeist(BGW) here I come!!(July 2002)

Xit to Xtreme, lay off the weed, it killz brain cells :) :) Anyway, I would simply paint all the rides at Great Adventure, and make the spikes on the chiller vertical

God is Good!

Absimillard,

You and I are probably the the only ones who have any idea what you're taking about, but I like it.

I'm wondering if there is actually room behind Le Monstre. Are you looking to put it over the water?

I'd hate to sell some coasters. Lowering capacity is not what I'd look to do at La Ronde. Can't we relocate them somewhere?

What about the useless Nintendo dome? There's gotta be a better use of space than that.

Also, what about expanding to the parking lot across from the Monster (on the other side of the marina)?

SFgadv

1.Make Evolution Run

2. Race B&R the chiller

3. have GCI refurbish Rotting Lumber cant do CCi anymore:(

4.Built ta2k near viper and rt

5. build arrow 4d in place of viper

6. build new 300ft skycoaster

7. intamin standing 418ft drop ride

Then charge only 8 bucks for admission

Sean

Hmmm. Me owning IOA would be a big undertaking. First..

1.I'd build the B&M flyer they are thinking about (I hope they do) but I would also put in that T-rex /jeep simulator that people talked about between the Lost Continent and JP River Adv.

2.Run all the special effects in the entire park every day. (jurassic park, dudley do right, hulks water effect at bottom of hill, cat in hat props)

4.Make one tower of Dr.Doom drop from the top.

5.Build a vertical drop coaster in the lost continent themed to Poseidon OR build a water coaster like JTA.

6.Have fireworks in the center lake at night like Epcot.

7.Add a wild mouse with NO trims in Dr. Seuss Land.

8. Add a Wooden coaster to Toon Lagoon.

9.Add some new flat rides around the park because they are completely without flats. (storm force and 1 fish 2 fish ehh -they get old) Maybe a crazy Gravitron themed to X-men in Superhero Island.

9.Reduce food prices drastically.

10. Reduce admission

11.Make annual passes cheaper. $90 is a crime!!!

12. Oh and make a monorail from my house allll the way to Orlando. HAHA

Does this thing go faaaaaast!

Paramounts Kings Dominion

If i owned it, id tear out the Shockwave, and id put a small B&M floorless there, like one the size of Batman Dark Knight.

Id also build an Intamin giga, that worked its way behind Volcano and the Flight of Fear out over Lake Charles, with its track intertwined around the track of the Anaconda...itd be longer than Steel Dragon, at least 12000 or 13000 feet long :) Wishful thinkin huh?

Last but not least, id have Intamin build another of their great coasters.....a hydraulic launched monster, that would make Xcelerator look like a kiddie coaster.....maybe 300 feet tall and accelerate to something like 130 mph....*SHIVER*

for six flags marine world i would buy the fair grounds and put in a dualing b$m flying coaster... wouldnt that be sweet.
