If you could own your hometown park....

If I could own my hometown park(SFGAdv.) I would do numerous things. I would keep Rolling Thunder racing. I would build a boomerang. Also, launch B&R: The Chiller at the same time. What would you do to your hometown park?

Chris
If I owned SFMW the first thing I would do is carry out the animal water ride attraction that Blake recommended. Then I would threaten the mayor of Vallejo until he gave up the fairgrounds. Than I would as the coaster enthusiast and the GP decide what I should do with them.

-------------
"I’m more than a bird..I’m more than a plane...More than some pretty face beside a train...It’s not easy to be me"-Five for Fighting "Superman" dedicated to all of the hardworking rescuers of the WTC...

If I owned Great Adventure (and believe me I have plans of doing so...or being manager rather) I would add new a themed area across from Medusa.  Just for grins we'll call it..."The Next Dimension"  And of course it will have that new arrow prototype...a wild mouse, some mondial flat rides...awesome themeing.  That is my vision.
Man, if only I could own it.  That would be great.  My hometown parks are Lakeside and Six Flags Elitch Gardens.  With Lakeside, I would keep the kiddie land, The Cyclone, and The wild chipmunk, than level the rest of the park, add some up to date rides, buy some land around there and add some more coasters, with Six Flags Elitch Gardens, I would make a coaster go around the perimeter of the park, buy the land behind the island kingdom water park, and add something there.
If I owned PC I would get lap bars for the Carolina Cyclone (hehe), I would always race Thunder Road, ad a B&M hyper, expand the water park, and get a good woodie!!!
-----------------
If I owned SFA the first things I'd add would be a B&M stand up as well as a floorless and while I'm at it I'd get rid of that stinking train and add a nice dueling woodie in it's place.
Is anyone at BGT watching this board...PLEASE let the Gwazi duel...racing and dueling coasters ROCK, but their personality comes out when you run them properly.  Same goes for all of the excellent multi-track coasters!  Lola/Stella, Thunder Road, PKI Racer, Gemini, Kennywood Racer, Colossus, Lightning Racer...TWO coasters are better than one!!!
-----------------
Son of Drop Zone - PKI CoasterCamp I Champions!!!
SFNE, and like I have said before, I would buy all the land down to Connecticut and build the biggest giga-coaster yet.  I still don't understand the land situation.  It's only about 1/2 mile down the state line, and it seems that Six Flags could get the land at least on one side of Main Street, Agawam - maybe on both sides. Right now SFNE is just "Superman at Riverside Park".  If they did it right, in five years SFNE could be the East Coast's Magic Mountain.
I always wanted a dome over SFGAm.  ;)
-----------------
Tidal Wave- R.I.P End of 1991.
Why did SFoG have to steal our treasure... :(
That would be one huge dome. I dont know if I would want to own park. Just the responsibility would give me a permanent headache.

=========================
"The Peoples Elbow" or "The Spinaroonie?. Cant decide which is the most electrifying move in sports entertainment!!! LOL
SFSL...1st there wwould be an Intamin Hyper. Then I would go to a B&M Standup. Then I would go for a B&M flying coaster. Of course to build some of these I would probably have to buy some more land.

nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.............nooooo boomerangs........::begins to melt::

Mamba; The inspiration for SD2K. It doesnt get much better than that. Come to the Midwest;and ride the most underrated coaster in the U.S.

My hometown park is SFMM. I would race Collosus all the time and one side would be backwards.

Remove overhead restrainst and Trims from Revolution and add new trains. I think a floorless train would be nice.

Re-track Psyclone and remove the Batman show and build a flat ride there like Chaos at CP or a drop ride like Supreme Scream @ Knotts.

I also think that MM needs a good woodie in the wood near the Revolution like boulder Dash this would be sweet. But all in all MM is almost perfect and if they get X running and build some flat rides it is going to be the best park in the world.

Top 4
1. Ghostrider
2. Goliath
3. Riddler's Revenge
4. Batman the Ride

Well If I owned PKD I would keep all the workers, so I don't really have to do anything except design new rides;) Actually if I the head hancho of PKD I would:

~First Year~
-Add more flat rides
-Put in DJ's in Hypersonic's line so you can dance
-Add a mini lake inside the bland area of Hurler (Mainly 2nd turn after drop)
-Enforce the line jumping rule...have you ever actually never had someone jump on FOF?
-Screw Shockwave over, This thing is just a compacity nightmare.
-Put Intamin Gyro Drop in it's place

~Second Year~
-Add Jr. SLC to Kidzville
-Paint Rebel Yell!
-Retrack Rebel Yell

~Third Year~
-Add more theming on Shenandoah Log Flume
-Expand more behind Hurler and Add a small, but intense B&M Floorless

There is more but I am way too tired to type it all. .:Sigh:. If only dreams came true:)

P>y home park Is Indiana beach. /P>
P>FONT style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #ffffff">First I would expand mainland with a numerous amount of flat rides including a huss swing thing, powersurge. Second I would build a steel coaster that went from the mainland to the Island and back again.Next I would move some of the Shops that are between the Hoosier hurricane and the water park to the mainland adding an airthrust coaster along with about 4 water slides. I would continue to expand mainland and I would also change the layout of the superstitous mountain ( which is happening soon )/P>
Yeah Mamba Tim, i guess your right. A boomerang isn't smart. Either a new LARGE woodie, or a nice dueling woodie. they just need a woodie.

WYANDOT LAKE:

Year 1:
•With permission from the zoo, I would raise parking to $5.
•I would take the 16 tub Eli Bridge Wheel and update it with a hydrolic drive and Turbo lights.
•I would refurbish Frolic and Bumper cars.
•I would repaint the damn Scrambler (again) and add an attractive light kit.
•Fri and Sat nights would have extended hours and I would have 2 annual night swim parties (with exrtra lifegaurds of course) with music and bikini contests

Year 2:
•With the revenue generated by the parking increase, I would finally pave the lot in asphalt with concrete walkways.
•I would re-do the entrance gates with a more straight on look to bring in people faster.
•Zeirer Wave Swinger
•Chance Sea Dragon (name it something else)
•New food joint
•New stage
•I would repave the enitre water area and main pathways in concrete and designate all concrete areas NON Smoking. All asphalt sections would remain "smoking"
•I would provide a new system to run credit cards though faster (something similiar to a self-check-out a supermarket)

Year 3
•Cosmetic Improvements

•At this point, i would have proposed a final plan for the park to the Zoo board and the City of Columbus thus granting me additional 22 acres to expand on.

Year 4:
•Ad campaign:
•BIG thrills for the LITTLE ones at Wyandot Lake.

•I would begin PHASE 1 of my plan with 3 new kids rides, a Zamperla magic carpet (shaped like a boat), a Zamperla Cliffhanger (lay down ride), and a Sellner Windglider.
•I would add a Miler kiddie steel coaster
•Bugs Bunny and the gang would entertain the young ones with a new diving show and a meet and greet session.
•The arcade would be updated with more ticket-receiving games

•While moving the Boneyard, I would construct a path that loops around Christophers Island
•New Kiddie slide combo
•Little Tykes Playground
•Family slide
•All maintainence buildings and warehouses will be relocated to the farthest back end of the park

•3 new Large Deluxe picnic pavillions would be built.

Year 5
•PHASE 2- Pay Per Ride Package
•Sky Coaster
•18 hole - Mini Golf
•10 hole Beginners golf
•Bumper Boats

Year 6
PHASE 3: Family Attractions
•New Game
•New Food Patio
•Roadrunner Express (Mauer Shone Mouse)
•Chance Wipeout
•Zamperla Power Surge
•Shoot the Chutes raft ride

Year 7
•Cosmetic Improvements

Year 8
PHASE 4 - Final Improvements Stage
•SetPoint Swing Water Drench Coaster
•New Enclosed Water Slides
•S&S 100' Shot N Drop Tower

Further Down the Road I would (if given additional land), build a 100' Custom 3 or 4 Inversion Arrow coaster, a CCI freeform, -OR- a Vekoma Boomerang

That'll get an attendence increase ;)

john peck...doesn't sound like you've spent much time thinking about your "project"...LOL.  If enthusiasts designed parks, they WOULD be better, because while we know what WE like to ride, see, eat, etc., I think many of us also have good ideas about what OTHER people like to see, do, eat, etc...
