Why?
Well, in 2006 it will be central to 3 new coasters.... Beech Bend, HW and..... oh.... I'll let it simmer for a bit.... ;-)

"Koch predicts a 10-percent increase in attendance next year, plus the creation of 100 new seasonal positions."
Heh, looks like I was both wrong and right! The "84 persons" Paula mentioned in the Holihint were most definitely three trains of 28 passengers, but it looks like they've created 100 seasonal positions with the new additions!
At any rate, this coaster looks completely sick, in the best way possible. One question though...how in hades can you possibly top that!

How about turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy? ;)

Nina, Pinta, and the Santa Maria were the boats that sailed to Jamestown. The Mayflower was the boat that sailed to plymouth rock carrying the settlers that celebrated the first Thanksgiving.
Just, you know. in case anyone cares.
Nina, Pinta, Santa Maria were Columbus...not Jamestown....duh.

PKI's building another one?
You can't mean that place out at our fairgrounds after all... :) Though it would be nice... it's nice and close to my office... *** Edited 7/13/2005 5:34:11 PM UTC by bit0mike***
And, as a graduate of a Journalism school (PR major), let me also say that Paula's handing of this whole build-up and announcement should become required study! Everything this park does is top notch.
Related to the ride...how long exactly is that third (or maybe second) from the last tunnel? Granted, I'm just going by the on-ride animation but it seemed like it was undeground for a long time on that one!

My new #1 ride if it performs as promised!! So much of my own ideas was included in this ride! :-) I wanted the steepest drop at least in the USA. More airtime hills than any in the world! (Maybe ST had only 22 seconds of airtime). 5 tunnels like I suggested. I'm getting my wish now and if I have enough to build a cabin in Santa Clause on Christmas Lake I will need to do that and buy a lifetime pass! :-)
Uh, just stop it...*Rolls Eyes*
Columbus sailed the ocean blue in 1492, with the Nina, Pinta and Santa Maria.
The Jamestown Settlers arrived in 1620 via the Susan Constant, Discovery and Goodspeed. They were the first permanent and successful settlement in the US.
There had been other attempts prior, most notably in 1587 the settlement in Manteo, NC that became infamously known as the "Lost Colony" led by Sir Walter Raleigh.
The Mayflower was used by settlers to what was then known as the upper "Virginia" coast in 1620. This was known as Plymouth Colony, now it is known as Plymouth, Massachusetts. These settlers were the first to celebrate Thanksgiving.
Other famous early American ships include the Dartmouth and Eleanor... both of which played a part in the Boston Tea Party.

There does appear to be a couple of moments on the ride where you can catch your breath (ex: Hades turnaround), thank goodness! To be honest with you, I was very excited when Hades was announced, but that doesn't even come close to my excitement level regarding HW's new woodie for 2006! This coaster looks simply amazing! The track layout is awesome, and that triple-down in the dark should rival the thrill factor in Hades' tunnel!
Wow! I have to go watch the POV again! :)

NOTE: Severe fecal impaction may render the above words highly debatable.
This coaster looks like someone really knew what they are doing! But forget about the coaster, lets get some info on the darkride!!
There are no bad coasters, only better coasters!!
