What was their last prototype?
Zinga

Oh! You were referring to Splashin' Safari. When I see "HW" I think of the rides park, not the waterpark.
I was referring to HW (ride park) in my earlier post, but Zinga was the correct answer to your question.

As far as prototypes rides, Voyage qualifies in my book (though not technically I guess). Before that...uh..I got nothing. The Banshee arrived in 1986. It was a Chance Falling Star. Anyone know if perhaps it was one of the first installations?

I'm thinking a Giant Flume with an elevator lift and a near-vertical drop...

Is it possible that Paula is mixing up the clues for 2 different rides?

This is so confusing!

What an original guess, Dan! lol

Hmmmm. Just had a quick thought (a first!). The Invertigo at SFA has been SBNO all season according to rcdb. I thought it was just "early-season closed" when I visited in June...then noticed it about a week ago. Perhaps it sold?

^^I was THINKING it before you posted, Moosh ;)
Shoot the Chutes with an elevator lift and an inversion. Or else an indoor water park with a retractable roof.
What about a Mountain Glider?

"Vertigo"

^That's what I was thinking too...

^^ Yes, that could be it! Walibi Belgium loves their Mountain Glider! After all, it runs very reliably and has high capacity...perfect for Holiday World.

Huh? What's that? It has low capacity and has barely run since day one?

Never mind :)

Weird....I can't seem to "locate" one of my previous guesses (granted, I've had quite a few, hehe). Wondering if there can't be 3 things going on - waterpark, ride park, and the "technology acquisition".
Ditto, Gator....but perhaps I posted it elsewhere and not here...I lose track sometimes...I think the technology is an electronic child locator - I saw an ad for that technology during the Olympics in a Duracell commercial.

Here's a link to the device... http://www.brickhouse-childsafety.com/locator.html

Adding to the rides park and water park in the same year is something Holiday World does quite often. It wouldn't surprise me if they did it again next year.

Brick House, huh? And here I was suggesting Motown in the HRP thread! :)

The REAL Brick House is here, G:

Paula's comment in the blog about getting such a "lift" rules out my guess of the first launched wood coaster.
From all of the hints on their Blog I am taking a guess that it is a Mountain Glider by Doppelmayr. It is a Ropeway Glider style coaster with an elevator lift that looks wickedly awesome. It is a roller coaster in the sense that it has a lift, wheels, track, and is driven by gravity but is done a new non-traditional way. One was built at Walibi Belgium but has had many technical issues. The funny thing is I posted this information to HoliBlog and the moderator has blocked it three times. I wonder why??? LOL

Here is a link to a promo video of the ride...

Maybe it is… maybe it isn’t… cant wait till Tuesday

Addendum to above: Yes the one in Belgium has had many technical problems but that doesn’t mean the next one will. The engineers that built the first have learned allot and those lessons will be built into the next one... wherever that will be.

800 riders per hour is not that bad...

Now if you throw in a bucket of water balloons and point me towards some parents that are yelling at their kids we might be on to something.
