That's more likely than them getting an Intamin Rocket coaster! :)

I think you are misunderstanding him Rush... I think he means just after you get off the ride you choose which park to go to.
^But wouldnt you already have to be IN the park to ride this ride? Unless it starts in the parking lot. You cant really choose to go here or there when you are already half way into the dry park.

When you are in the park, this ride would be located in between the two parks, and riders could chose which park to go to once again after riding the attraction.

So you're saying that people dressed in jeans and a tee would get off this ride and choose to go into the waterpark? And conversely some people dressed in a bathing suit would choose the rides park despite the fact that all their clothes were in a locker in Splashin' Safari?

Overthinking indeed, lol ;)

I'm thinking along the lines of Monsoon at WoF. People from both WoF and OoF can ride it and if you have the right kind of pass you can go between parks. Since Splashin Safari is free (technically speaking) it would be a new way to get into the water park.

Probably a splash bridge for making the journey.

I knew what you were referring to. Dorney's rapids is similarly placed.
OK something like Deluge(and the way KK has it set up during the waterpark's non operational warmer months) makes more sense to me along with the way WOF's Monsoon is operated. *** Edited 8/22/2008 3:37:13 AM UTC by RushStreetFlyer***

I'm to the point where I just don't care about the new ride anymore...

All I want is the operating hours to be extended past 8:30! ;)

^ Just set your watch to Eastern Time, like a good portion of our visitors and -- poof! -- we're open till 9:30 pm most nights (10:30 pm on many Saturdays). :)

That does not make the sun set faster, Paula! Remember enthusiasts want night rides!

Yeah, 10:30pm central time would be better. :)

Based off Paula's hints, I think a sky ride is going to be added next year.

I'm actually amused at several things.

1) the lack of definitive answers by the usually (vocal) in-the-know group. This isn't a criticism, just a marked difference from even last year when people nailed the carousel early in the discussions.

2) In an era when most parks have taken OUT their skyrides (Kennywood parks excluded), how unique is it that Holidayworld might get one.

Of course, if they do it's only because the multitude of ginormously oversized patrons can't make it up the hill anymore. Will there be special racks for the EMVs? A "single scooter" rider line? Or like in Wall*E will it look like a bunch of amorphous blobs floating in the sky.

A Skyride? Seriously? Just stop and think about what would be involved in that installation for a sec. Dozens of poles and wires would have to be installed and they need to run in a straight line. Given the terrain of the park and locations/heights of currently installed rides, I cannot imagine this even being feasable let alone cost effective.

After a long day at the park, I hate "the hill" as much as everyone else, but a Skyride? C'mon. The park is a good size, but not that big.

*Edit* After a few minutes of thinking, I guess it could be useful if they ran one from SS (by Bakuli) over the Voyage in and into Thanksgiving, but there are so many better things they could do. A skyride is near the bottom on my list of guesses. *** Edited 8/22/2008 6:14:28 PM UTC by Emiroo***

Eric

Skyrides do not have run in a straight line. They can negotiate any number of turns desired, as well as move up and down very imposing terrain:

I think given the topography, this kind of ride would be a shoe-in for HW.

I'm not saying a sky ride is going in, but if one were to go in, it would be a good indication that they plan to keep expanding the park. I think it was an off season event, No Coaster perhaps, when a rep for the park stated that if all of their land was developed, Voyage would be in the middle of the park.

I love skyrides and I'd love to see HW build one (heck...I'd love to see every park build one) but I'm not sure it would really be the best investment in the world. I guess it would depend on what kind of line it took and what parts of the park it were connecting but it just seems like there's so much else they could build which would take priority.

Speaking of what Ensign mentioned, that would make the typical "skyride" (like at CP or SFGA) much more interesting...a turn here, a turn there, over the river and through the woods, etc...

Sterling Vineyards in Napa Valley has a triangular gondola route. You can't see the entire layout, but notice how the support only has one cable: http://www.panoramio.com/photo/5396958

Fun place if you are ever in wine country.
