HW 2009

I'm revising my guess: a shoot-the-chutes with an elevator-type lift (as lift was mentioned in Paula's blog entry too).

Well, it's a thrill ride of some sort, if there were a chance Paula wouldn't ride it.

Also, "in the back" certainly points to this not being some sort of flat ride, and I doubt she'd be wanting to ride "in the back" if single cars were involved or it were something where back/front didn't really matter.

Edit - and I'd agree with Moosh that the Shutes ride is still possible, as the vehicle is pretty big and front/back is still a bit of a consideration. A water ride with a smaller individual vehicle not so much. Still, something about the posts say "coaster" to me. *** Edited 8/18/2008 11:31:47 PM UTC by matt.***

It could very well be a coaster...honestly I have no clue what the park is getting.
How about something like Journey to Atlantis at Sea World San Diego or San Antonio?

I like your idea because honestly it's a good one and I've had the same thoughts. The placements of the current stakes and the hints just make me think it's something else this time around.

Of course, the way HW expands there will probably be at least 2 new attractions included in the announcement, I'd bet.

Amnesiac...while the SuperSplash at SWT does indeed fit most of the clues thus far, I kinda hope for HW's sake that's not the direction they went. Can't say where I remember seeing a pricetag for one of those, but I seem to recall it being quite pricey for the ride it delivered. As far as water rides are concerned, the capacity is pretty high when the "grouper" (not the fish!) is on the ball. The ride at SWSD is a water coaster in the more traditional sense, a la Buzzsaw or JtA at SWO.

After looking around for a price, I did find one of the SuperSplah rides with an actual elevator lift... http://www.rcdb.com/id3029.htm

Curiouser and curiouser.... ;)

I just have to say: "Aquatrax"

My thoughts exactly.

^It wasnt really funny the first time back on page 3.
If the blog is giving a clue each day, what do you get from the entries about Laser and the little girl with the ruler?

The last word in the entry about the Allentown park is "classic" FWIW. (Which ties in perfectly with the mention of the El Camino in the other story. LOL.) The "writer" of that story mentioned he did "take a pass" on the bumper cars. And what's the significance of the "new Colts' house?"

Who said there was to be a clue each day?

We must be reading different blog entires. Unless I'm mistaken "That would be a tall order" does not mean "I'll give a clue each day."

Uhuh. Am I missing where Paula said she was going to do that? All I see is that she said giving a hint a day for two weeks would be "a tall order. Very tall."
You know...if you think about it... Will Koch is a German showmen. Paula has been talking about a new way of getting from here to there, and Laser's lift took FOREVER. However she has also talked about a dive and eluded to water. We know there will be more than one attraction. So its possible that HW might be getting Laser and a tall racing waterslide. Thinking about the Gravity Group reference. A few years ago they designed the Triton complex at Mt. Olympus. I'm just saying I would not rule out Laser, or that this expansion could be huge. In my opinion their teasing almost as much as they did for Voyage, and their motto has always been Under Promise, Over Deliver.

Mind you, even a tiny difference, such as that between 0 and 0.000126, can make a world of difference.
Gee, I always thought our motto was "#1 for Family Fun." :)

Clearly they've purchased Laser's lift for use on a highly-modified Shoot-the-Chutes.

If only they could find a way to work some of Shock or Wave into the mix. :(

I'm going to go out on a limb and make one of the first craziest guesses but how about a coaster a bit like Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain with an elevator lift followed by a vertical drop.

And I am going to ask, Why would HW copy a less successful park in the same state? I think Gravity Group just put "Splinter" out there to show people a ride innovation they created. It can be done on a smaller scale than even LoCoSuMo and for a very affordable price. Its just good advertising, it looks like a concept, and they already had video of something similar operating.

I'm just going to throw this out there:

Perhaps it is a brand new (prototype) ride and/or technology. It wouldn't be the first time for that at HW. At this point Paula's hints have me tripping all over myself so I'm going to quit trying to figure it out and just wait a week.

I am glad to hear that it will be some sort of thrill ride as opposed to "standard" flats.
