HW 2009

Paula was asked if she'd ride it and she said she would...in the back. Veritgo in Belgium has no "back," it's all one row.

Not to mention she indicated it was much easier to understand once she saw a rendering. What's complicated about the one in Belgium, and why would Paula need a rendering when one already exists?

I mean there's 1000 other good reasons to not build something like this at HW, but those two alone make some pretty good sense, no? *** Edited 8/20/2008 7:42:30 PM UTC by matt.***

The "in the back" comment is what really made me think "water ride"...can't really imagine another reason that Paula would prefer the back. I've been wrong before... ;)

You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)

Okay, I'm going to stop watching the ride simulation and put together a Fact Sheet. Or two.

Two rides people! Probably one for HW and one for SS. But who knows?! Can't wait for the announcement!

^as mentioned on page 6:

Adding to the rides park and water park in the same year is something Holiday World does quite often. It wouldn't surprise me if they did it again next year.

Thanks Mamoosh. I know that and you know that but seems like many people are staying single ride focused. I just posted Paula's hint to back up our suspicions.

My back cringes at the thought.

What about two Mountain Glider's. Used as transportation in the park.

The could have added seats to this ride type to have front and back seating too.

Of course, the way HW expands there will probably be at least 2 new attractions included in the announcement, I'd bet.

The cool people posted on page 6! ;)
Truthfully, more than any new ride, what HW needs is to put up more sun shades in SS. There are certain areas where the concrete gets so hot that you cannot walk on it. Seriously. If you don't have some sort of footwear on, you will get first or second degree burns if you stand still for more than a few seconds. That long walk up the hill from The Wave and then around to Kima Bay is particularly bad about this. But then there are other areas (like around the Bahari Wave Pool) that use stamped concrete that don't have this problem. They have shades set up by the "free sunscreen bathrooms" that used to be the worst about this. I guess this means they are at least aware of it and that's a good thing. Don't stop with the one set please.

And then there is always my complaint that the Legend parking lot needs to be blacktopped and striped. I still can't believe people park their cars on the grassy hill by the fence in this lot either. Clearly, it is NOT meant to be used as parking.

The part of SS up on the hill definitely has a bit of an "unfinished" look to it. I'm sure there's an over-arching masterplan which will include general improvements and attractions.
How about 2 rides that are inter woven, like a thrill ride and a water slide? Just a thought! Like a mountain with both things going through it! Or a Plymouth Rock!?!?

I'm going with one ride that can be accessed from both parks.

Similar to the set up at WoF.

could there be a possibility of two small dueling wood coasters?

one of them could have a splashdown, i hear theyre all the rage now (im kidding) *** Edited 8/21/2008 2:45:04 AM UTC by fearandloathing***

wasnt there a water ride called the flying dutchman that received help from intamin for its elevator-lift system?
For a new way of getting from here to there, I vote for this

DIY Skycoaster

my guess: Ski lift from entrance down to thanksgiving/new area.

When I first read the "new way to get from here to there" comment my first thought was a skyride through the park. I think that's a wonderful idea.
How about it being a new way to get into the water park? Like riding the ride and then deciding which park to go into?

^If I'm understanding your suggestion that the ride would take you to a so called fork in the road where you would choose whether to into the water/dry park, then that would require relocating the entrance to the park and the parking lot to the Thanksgiving area. That doesnt make any sense at all and would be pointless and a huge waste of resources.

Some people are overthinking this way too much. But since we're making up wild scenarios I'll guess take a guess that they are going to buy one of the SeaWorld parks and relocate the animals to Splashin Safari and turn all of the waterslides and pools into revolutionary state-of-the-art interactive animal exhibits.
