HW 2009

Thank you for that unneeded explanation, Paris.

My point is that you are assuming a lot from one word.

To go off what Tambo said, maybe they're getting a Power Surge for a flat like Beech Bend.

You have a date and a word, before Paula indicates that a hint was just dropped. If it's not the date, it's the word. Okay, maybe it's in the line about dropping the hint, but it's the one word that's in italics for emphasis.

From the Holiblog:

Hmmmm ... that's a tall order.

Really tall.

That's all for now.

What?!

Are you expecting me to drop a hint?

Uh ... just did.

Really Tall + What - Uh (Water) + Drop.

Sounds like a tall shoot the chutes spill ride in Thanksgiving! That would be a super addition in my book! Or it could be a high speed slide for Splashin' Safari! Or Paula could just be messing with us...like she always does!

I'm still holding out for that B&M Inverted though!

A shoot-the-chutes that can be accessed by both the rides park and water park would be a super idea (and one I've mentioned numerous times before) ;)

^All waterparks should have a S-t-C. If the cost weren't such a factor, I'd even recommend a FSS for all waterparks too (since people are already accustomed to capacity issues in waterparks, that's not really the problem it is for ride parks).

Another viable option is something along the lines of Der Stuka or Summit Plummet, one of those super-tall waterslides - could even advertise it as "the fastest wedgie in all of Indiana!" ;)

Possible Lo-Q system!

Even if it's free, the thought makes me smile just a little on the inside. :)

Gah. Reading the comments on that news story certainly makes me appreciate CBuzz a little bit more.

NO! NO! NO!

Think before you give in to VQ, Holiday World. Lines at Disney World, SF parks, and others offering virtuial queues are very long. VQs cause longer lines, not shorter lines like supporters will argue.

Parks post on a sign that line jumping is prohibited, and then turn around and let people cut in line. This is NOT family friendly.

Teach little Timmy and little Suzie to wait their turn. It's too late for Gonch.

VQ "service" is ruining the amusement park experience, not enhancing it.

VQ is pure speculation. It was my initial thought upon reading the "new innovative service involving technology" sentence.

Of course it could be anything. Upon further reflection, I think an "electronic kid/family finder" is equally as likely.

We'll find out Aug. 26.

And I 100% agree with the "wait your turn" thing. I give trips to amusement parks complete credit for my 2 year old learning to wait his turn. Last time we were at HW, he waited 20 minutes with zero complaints for the Antique Cars. Anybody with a 2 year old can attest that this is practically a miracle. Whenever my son isn't sharing I always tell him to "Wait your turn" and 95% of the time he replies, "like at Holiday World" and then does indeed wait his turn.

Yeah, that's why I was careful with my words and used "the thought" :)

I don't see it. Maybe an informational service like we talk about around here sometimes - Paula is fond of Twittering.

My first guess is anything electronic other than a VQ system.

My second guess is a VQ system. ;)

Gonch drops "the F-bomb" (in Gonch, "free" is a four-letter word, LOL)....who saw THAT coming? :o

:)

I agree with Gonch, VQ isn't coming.

Not for those who use a VQ.

I doubt it's coming, too. There's a few reasons but my own personal anecdotal one is that I don't wait for anything at Holiday World. I mean, I'm sure there are quite a few days where lines get long-ish but even then the waterpark should bear most of that weight by midday. It just doesn't seem like it would be a useful investment.

My exact experience with my daughter, starting with when she was a year and a half. Now she's six, and can easily wait an hour for a ride with no more impatience or annoyance than most adults. Who says amusement parks ain't educational?

My author website: mgrantroberts.com

My guess based on the clues so far, a really tall drop tower shaped like a turkey leg.

Life is an amusment park -and I can't get off of the damn spinning teacups!

A drop tower...when they have Liberty Launch? Not likely.
