Thanksgiving could use a bit more fleshing out into the woods beyond the fence. I say drop in some flat rides and another marque attraction/thrill ride.
When I had read the "clue" with the steaks I had just gotten back from the park, so I didn't really get to check out what was going on. However yesterday(Thursday) I went again and I was sure to keep a close eye out. I first went to Thanksgiving to check out what I could see from there. I went to the back in the smoking area and looked at the intersection of the snowy white gravel road and another service road. One corner of the intersection is a field. I could see a few steaks out there but couldn't really see what shape they were making out. I did notice right at the intersection there were some cinder blocks and some other brick like materials sitting there. Not alot, just a couple small stacks. The brick like materials seemed to be something that they would use for landscaping or something. THe others were just standard cinder blocks. I also noticed that there were orange markers/steaks that ran along the tree line just to the right of the Voyage lift hill. The line ALMOST intersected with the lift hill but right before it did, it went back into the woods and I could see some trees into the woods that were marked with the orange markers going back into the woods. I couldn't really make any kind of guess as to what was going on(but maybe some of you could). Later in the day I was in splashin' Safari and was in line for the Bakuli, just on the other side of the Voyage lift hill. Once I got almost to the top I looked out over the woods that create the border of Splashin Safari and the Thanksgiving area. Again I noticed orange markers along the tree line. Now these could be left over from previous construction, but I'm not sure that they would be left up that long or that many could last an entire year of southern Indiana weather. Also, there is a somewhat large grassy area between the Bakuli and the woods. I also seen a single orange marked steak in the middle of all of that. Of course this again could be for anything... future landscaping, extension of paths, whatever. But after thinking a bit about it I though that this would be a PERFECT area for a water coaster much like seen at Schlitterbahn and the such. The entrance could be either in THanksgiving or Splashin Safari and could take up the area and follow any percieved path you could make out in that area. It almost seemed clear to me that there was planned expansion/construction for both sides of the Voyage lift hill. Again, I'm not a enthusist at all and I really don't know what to look for, but I thought that maybe reporting what I saw would maybe help some of you who actually know what to look for guess as to whats coming next. The water coaster guess was just something that kind of popped into my head. I wish I thought to snag a few pictures but I since I"m really just a member of the general public I was more concerned with just having fun in the park rather than remembering to bring a camera. But maybe this can help you all anyway.
On a side note, I had a blast at the park. Everything was very clean, the staff was very friendly. Another status quo day at Holiday World.
Too bad about body slides not being high priority, the only thing I missed at Splashin' was a good body slide/drop slide.

I drive in & out of Boston, so I ride coasters to relax!
The thrill-seeking park guests have been asking for loops for a long time (read the guest comment blog). Something like Anton's magnificent Six Flags trio (Mind Bender, Shock Wave, Revolution) would be a great fit. However, I bet the first looping coaster at HW will be a Gerstlauer Eurofighter or an S&S of some sort.

Now, can anyone read any real clue into Paula's Holiblog?
I don't think the hint is the number. It's in the "what" in italics. What = watt = unit of power = Holiday World is getting a ProSlide Rocket (i.e.- MasterBlaster, powered slide).
Where do I go to collect my prize?

what != wattAnd how does power == rocket?
The Rocket is ProSlide's version of the MasterBlaster, the one water slide that is actually electrically-powered with the speedy conveyor belts that push your raft up the track during the ride.
Obviously HW isn't going to call this thing by the vanilla catalog title, so my guess is it's going to call it something like Power Surge or Energy Boost or Volt Bolt or Watts Happening. *** Edited 8/12/2008 12:08:30 PM UTC by Paris***
