How did you come up with member name

Touchdown is the name my high school football teamates called me, I dont even know how or why though, I was an offensive lineman and never scored a TD.

Raven-Phile said: Oh, clarification - the name. The coaster's fine, though IMO, it's the weakest of the 3.

This is precisely why I didn't choose a ride-specific username: what happens when the ride goes from "great" to "sucks," is overshadowed by newer rides, or is bulldozed?

Remember the guy with the username Hercules? Or the one named HypersonicXLC? lol ;)

Kinda feel the same. I used to support a trafficking system we wrote for shipping companies. Once a week or so, I would go down to make sure our trafficking software was working ok for a customer, and saw this just before entering their parking lot. The day I registered on here, the customer had driven me over to Grosse Isle to see the houses being built on Boblo, and ruined my clueless belief that the park would ever make a comeback.

...or some current threads for that matter. ;)

My name is well, my name. Although, the M. has been questioned. :)

And actually, my parents ended up picking my name out of a baby book after I was born. They didn't know they were having twins and while they had a name picked out for my sister, who was born first, they weren't at all ready for me. :)

I was 13 years old in August of 2001 when i first rode MF. It was literally the ride of my life! I lost my fear of roller coasters on that day. Something "clicked", as a lot of people put it, on that ride. I remember that day so well that i feel like a could write a TR on it right now, and have it be as good as any of my other TR's.

Anyways that's where it comes from. As for why i choose Giga over Milliennium force01. I honestly don't remember.

-Eric: Major Parks: SFNE(homepark), SFA,SFGADV,CP,BGE,BGA,Kennywood, and Sea World: Track record 65 different coasters ridden #1 is Millennium Force #2 is El Toro and than there are all the others

But now i've gotten tired of that name. This is my real name.

6.STR@SFNE 7.Voyage 8.X2 9.Storm Chaser 10. Wicked Cyclone

The second part of my name is self-explanatory. The first half comes from my love for the Outer Banks (OBX) of North Carolina, the place I'd prefer to be above anywhere else.

I used to have another screen name as noted in my signature, but I deleted that the night I had a falling out with someone close to me. I felt as though that chapter of my life was suddenly closed, so it was time to retire the online alias that many knew me by.

I know of a few others here who have basically done the same.

Well, what happens when M:TR is no longer the greate... oh, wait a minute - that's not gonna happen in our lifetimes. :)

I shun you for even suggesting that M:TR could be considered anything but the greatest thrill on earth. (I have yet to experience this ride myself, though I hear it is legendary) ;)

I've heard complaints about a short ride cycle and a lack of theming. ;)

Just curious. Is your sister a coaster geek too? :)

Nah, she enjoyed amusement parks as much as me, but never really got into the coasters like I have. :)

My username was actually a nickname given to me by the wonderful 2005 maXair crew (still the best crew on that ride yet) on Labor Day of that year, when I did my 29 ride day to put me at 50 on the year.

Now my original username of BlueStreak64 (which is my name over on PointBuzz, but I lost/forgot all the info related to it here, so I created a new account) was simply because I love Blue Streak. It remains one of my top 5 coasters at the Point.

I've been using this for every single account I've ever made since 2003.

Ride On!

My last name is Black. Blackie has been my nickname since I was born. Many people have assumed that I am African American because of it. There have been a few that thought that it was because of my birth date: 06/09/76
Black Friday had nothing to do with my name. It's just a strange coincidence that my name and and birthday match. The really screwed up thing is that I was there that day. I've have not spent another birthday at that park and I doubt I ever will. I guess that makes me a little superstitious. I was unaware of any problems until the drive home.

I'm missing something. What happened at what park on your birthday in 1976, Blackie? lol

DoB: 06/09/76

I have no idea what happened at the park that day, I was coming into the world.

Notice it says: "Birth Date" = Date of Birth

I was refering to my 15th "Birth Day" 06/09/91 (Black Friday)

I should have known that would confuse someone. I'll be more careful next time.

edited for spelling

Is that a local distinction, Blackie? Because I think the term "Black Friday" in most areas refers to the day after Thanksgiving, when the holiday shopping season begins. That's probably why it confused someone.
