Either that or they have to update the pages to read "Peabody Creek Productions" ;)
Interesting stuff.

What? Did someone ban him for posting pictures in a trip report?
Geez people, they give out free DVD's to people that contain some of the funniest coaster/park material, and SOME of you guys get your torches and pitchforks out ready to run them outta town.
Lawsuits? Cease and desist? Honestly, the fine line some of you walk as far as legal/illegal activities and what you wanna blow the whistle on is downright laughable. *** Edited 4/21/2004 4:13:09 PM UTC by Homey G.***
I also make a non-trivial chunk of my income from intellectual property, via licensing from patents filed through the University and private consulting work. If someone were to try to profit from my hard work, I'd be pretty P.O.'d.
I wonder what these guys would think if I got one of their videos, made a bunch of copies, and then sold them myself.

However Gonch, as cheaply as they "CAN" be made, my whole point was that they aren't doing it malevolently.
I still would like to know if any attempt has been made by Peabody to clear all this up. I know Jeff and he's a good guy, but I think after his input, this thread has taken a turn for the "BUUUURN the Witch!!"
Gemini, sorry man. It's just funny to me that people are always looking out for HUGE corporations like Cedar Fair as if they need your/our help. These are videos... it's not like someone's taking a Chinook helicopter and dropping in and hoisting away coasters.
Jes, if you feel you got ripped off then that sucks, but I don't know what to tell you other than if you bought 7 discs with no idea of the quality beforehand, then I suggest you take a long hard look at the philosophies behind "Let the Buyer Beware".

As for Peabody, there is certainly much more to the story. But, as he said earlier in the thread, he's keeping that off the boards.

I went back to edit the post and (like the moron I am) accidently hit delete. I have no desire to retype my thoughts nor could I get it exactly the same as it was as it just flowed from my head, through the fingers and onto the screen in front of me.
Sorry for any confusion.
Gemini, I see your point. I hope you see mine that sending an email to Blockbuster tattle-tailing is among the most colossal wastes of time a human can engage in.
The bottom line, if you ask me, is that we're choosing sides in an issue that doesn't involve us. Some of you think there is evildoing going on, some of us think it's trite.
Either way, it's between Peabody and the folks at HCP. If you think Cedar Fair is worried about videos that have been on sale for many many years, perhaps you should think again.
Much love,
Brian
That video is none of my concern, as I have no involvement with it. *** Edited 4/21/2004 4:54:56 PM UTC by Peabody***
And what exactly do you find funny and what experience do you have with regards to IP?

I'm guessing none, because if you did, you'd know that the biggest fundamental weakness in any intellectual property right is not defending it. Even the USPTO will tell you that.
