By the way, I do not have some specific inside source at PKI, nor do any of the folks there fill me in on details different from what they tell everyone. No one at PKI has told me specifically what the ride unit in Tomb Raider is, nor have I even asked.
Most of what I know is obvious fact. Following the ups and downs and trends of a park or their ride developments is not all that hard. However, PKI has suprised me many times. I am no expert nor do I claim to be. I just try to sort through mumbo-jumbo and look at the big picture.
Let me go on record here. I have terrific friends that just happen to work in management at PKI. I try very hard not to harm my friendships with them by quizzing them for info. A lot of the time I try and avoid discussing PKI stuff with them at all.
I often ask myself; "What if I went out with a friend and they just wanted to quiz me for management info from my business?" Well, I know my reaction would be to avoid them. I don't want that to happen with the good folks at PKI.
Sean F. can attest that the people that work in PKI Marketing and PR are top of the line and take their jobs very seriously. As part of that, they strive very hard to develop and maintain great things at the park. That involves not divulging every minute detail and to keep us wanting more. I admire them for it. After all, curiosity killed the cat ;-)
As time has progressed I have chosen to post/say less and less on rumor or message boards. Often I stay concerned that I will be lumped into a rumor-monger category by park folk. (Most of whom I know read this and other boards.)
I am at fault when it comes to defending PKI. A lot of the time I see how out of line, or untrue some statements are regarding things such as TR:TR on this or other boards and try and clear up some of the myth. I don't know why, it's like some deep rooted protection device or something ;-)
Perhaps I need therapy. LOL
Never-the-less I love discussing PKI and sharing or comparing facts about my favorite place on earth.
It was long-winded, but true. Hope that answered your question.

Shaggy, I would really be into the idea of no food and drinks in the queues if they were willing to cover the some of the queue for SOB, but I have a strong feeling that this won't happen, because of how Top Gun is still set up. I could guess they would think there was no need since the lines are almost nonexistant most of the time. Maybe some floorless trains a la Vampire would do the trick?
At the time this seems like an odd question, but does anyone have any idea about capacity?
Do you think Rivertown will still be Rivertown next year? Afterall, its down to one 'river', besides the fact it has a way to the waterpark. By guess is we'll see a second coming of 'Adventure Village' next year. But extreme loss of the particular theming never hurt Oktoberfest...
Anymore idea about what's going on with King Cobra? My guess would be if they sold it, the replacement would either be a TA2K(highly unlikely) or one of two possible flat rides. Hopefully, it won't be replaced by an upcharge attraction. I am reminded that a new VR upcharge(maybe) attraction is coming to the park this year. Where will it go?
Son of Beast to get friendlier trains or tunnels in the future? I know it has nothing to do with the track or maintenance as they seem to have been working their butts off day and night since it opened.
Anyone think Winterfest might be an option for PKI in the 2002 season? TRTR, FOF, FX Theatre, and Phantom Theatre, are all very popular and indoors, so I think they could be a big draw. Maybe I'm hoping too much, but another extended season I wouldn't doubt.
Here's to wishing and hoping! :)

Capacity is a science that cannot be accurately judged until a ride is open. There are very general estimates or predictions made by the manufacturer of the ride units themselves, but no precise numbers. From what I know, TR:TR will have a good throughput.
Rivertown will still be Rivertown. As far as I know, it has only had the single pond for years since Beast was added. But it is not called Rivertown because of the pond. It is called that because the park sits very close to the Little Miami River. I have to admit that after having drooled over Silver Dollar City's theming this past Spring, I would KILL for PKI to redevelop that area to somthing similar. Alas, I can only dream. PKI would only do it if they could play some sort of techno music with it. (Yes, even Shaggy can be sarcastic about PKI.)
King Cobra is still standing proud at the park. I predict the ride will operate for the 2002 season. As with Kings Mill Log Flume, I expect the park would get word out to enthusiasts that want that last ride prior to dismantling. More than anything, my hopes would be for them to utilize the land on which King Cobra resides to cut a path to the FOF midway. They could easily design an observation path that leads to Sonny's loop (something that was originally proposed for the ride.) This would also open a new area for future expansion as well as turn the Action Zone bottleneck into a flow through area.
I am expecting a big change to SOB this year.
We will never see Winterfest again. The park debated bringing it back, but opted for Fearfest instead. Winterfest will only live in memories.

I am a little unclear. Are you saying they should cover the SOB que? Did you mean that lines for Top Gun are non-existant or SOB? In my experience both rides always seem to have a line.
Sorry about that. I meant that it would be a good idea for PKI to cover at least the walkways of the queue near the station because it can really get hot there at times, but the line does move fairly quickly and I can do without it. I was saying that most likely they didn't cover Top Gun's queue, because the line rarely goes out the station are at least on my visits. I was also adding that floorless trains on Top Gun would be a cool idea.
People can we get back on topic here?

Floorless trains on Top Gun? You mean make it an invert?

Vampire at Chessington is supposed to get floorless trains in 2002, so I was mentioning it as a side tidbit, which actually was on topic, because it came from the no food and drinks from TRTR which is the topic at hand. I don't suppose a whole topic mentioning that it would be nice for Top Gun to get floorless trains is necessary.

I could not agree with you any more. You hit the mark once again.
As John stated, I also know first hand about the kind folks at PKI. I work with them quite a bit during the season, as well as some times during the off season. They have treated me VERY kindly and I don't take that for granted.
I also agree with John in that I don't believe a thing until I hear something official from the park. I have my ideas on what the logistics of the ride section are, but since nothing has been offically released from the park, I try not to add fuel to the whole " It's NOT A (insert ride name here)" fire. I will say info on what the park has released though.

"Descend into the ancient tomb of illuminati guarded by the Warrior Goddess Durga, just as the planets plantets align - and become enmeshed in an epic test of fire and ice! Hurtling through the darkness, you'll come face-to-face with glistening, razor-sharp stalactites, and roling red-hot-lava pits, twisting and turning as you struggle against the fury of natures polor opposites in a desprate effort to escape! So suit up and strap yourself in. The ride of your life is coming in 2002!
WOW!!!! This ride sounds supercalafradgalisticexpialadocious!!!!!!

As Sean stated, there are many rides that can disorient riders and no one has seen the exact ride before.

While I think it would be cool to see a Hammerhead Stall inside the TR:TR building, the park hasn't released any official info regarding the type of ride. The park has officially stated quite a few times that TR:TR won't be a coaster though.

In what you and Sean said you prove my point. How can it be a Top spin when there are dozens all around the world?

It has been reported (or so I hear) that trucks have been spotted on I-71 heading toward Cincinatti with red slide track on them. I believe Radio Flyer was involved in the construction and design. It should be a great year!!! Can't wait for Spring!!!
