Hershey Teasing 2008 Attraction

This may be from left field, but I think parks might shoot themselves in the foot when they make announcements during the season.

Whatever the attraction is (any park) many people might say, why should we go there now...if we wait until next year we could go on (insert new attraction here).

I think enthusiasts (which make up a small percent of the gate) get excited by tail end of the season press releases, but some regular folks might get turned off.

Just a thought.

Here's To Shorter Lines & Longer Trip Reports!

^ locally, many (most?) "regular folks" haven't heard any thing about this yet...

"Yes... well... VICTORY IS MINE!"
SLFAKE is right. They haven't started talking about the 2008 attraction locally yet. I don't think they start writing about in our local papers and news shows until their official press release.
^What they said. I don't know how many locals ever bother to check the website. Since we're talking PA here, the reaction of the majority is probably something like "Oh, they're getting something new next year- I wonder how much they'll raise prices?"
Any new info to share? I'm jonesing to find out whats goin on with this attraction!

Haha no I'm not giving Patrick the finger

HERCO CEO stated in a summer 2007 interview with the Patriot-News of Harrisburg that they are looking to expand their waterpark, perhaps to renovate the rapids ride and put in a larger wave pool do to the approx. 3500 guests/day increase that the waterpark brought. I don't forsee this happening for 2008 though.

The post does say 'What is better than a perfect 10?' HP has exactly 10 coasters, 11 would be better.

I do see the Western Chute slides coming out in the near future, maybe squeeze the Wild Mouse coaster there. I think that they would more likely utilize that space to put the station of a world class coaster in. What do you think?

^ But from that same article I gathered that we would not be seeing a "world class coaster" anytime soon.

Another interesting thing... HP is offering a special price of $115 for season passes through September 30. Wait till October 2 and they'll cost you more.

If I go and get one on October 1st would it be free?

Their season passes have gone up quite a bit over the last 2 seasons, and when they go up like that they must be adding something special next year! :)
One thing to keep in mind about their season passes...

Up until a year or two ago their Springtime in the Park (Easter weekend), Hersheypark in the Dark (two or three weekends in October), and Christmas Candy Lane (Christmas season of course) were free admission / Pay Per Ride (with a POP wristband option). Park Passes would NOT do you any good on these "Free Admission" events.

Last year (or was it two years ago?) they changed this to a POP admission fee (around $20) sometime over the previous "off season"... AFTER many people had bought / renewed their passes at the lower rate. They then offered an "upgrade" for about $25. People who upgraded could use their passes for the spring, halloween and christmas events, people who did not, could not.

This past year, passes had increased in price with ALL passes being honored in Sprintime, regular season, halloween and Christmas.

So, while the prices have increased, your pass is now good in April, and then basically from May to the end of December as opposed to May to mid September under the old pricing.

I think that there's no cost for parking as well if you get the season pass. Anyone know anything new with the new ride?
^ No cost for parking... and 15% off food at "Permanent" (non cart) food locations.

Only if you pull out your Coasterbuzz membership card and demand it. :)

Here's an interesting website.

http://nantimi.com

Note the line "initial estimates put the project cost at $12.1 million."

^ If you hover your mouse over to the little faint icon, and click on it, an e-mail window opens up that points to an e-mail address for:

XI@nantimi.com

with a subject title of:

"Things are not what they seem"

OOOOOOOHHH...I'm going to e-mail that now...

Intamin, Nantimi....coincidental anagrams?

Not sure if anyone already mentioned that... ;)

^ go to the Nantimi website and look around...things are getting a bit much to be just coincidental....

Nantimi is also a combination of the first so many letters of the founders' last names.

Nanavati
Tinley
Miller
