Whatever the attraction is (any park) many people might say, why should we go there now...if we wait until next year we could go on (insert new attraction here).
I think enthusiasts (which make up a small percent of the gate) get excited by tail end of the season press releases, but some regular folks might get turned off.
Just a thought.

The post does say 'What is better than a perfect 10?' HP has exactly 10 coasters, 11 would be better.
I do see the Western Chute slides coming out in the near future, maybe squeeze the Wild Mouse coaster there. I think that they would more likely utilize that space to put the station of a world class coaster in. What do you think?

Another interesting thing... HP is offering a special price of $115 for season passes through September 30. Wait till October 2 and they'll cost you more.
If I go and get one on October 1st would it be free?

Up until a year or two ago their Springtime in the Park (Easter weekend), Hersheypark in the Dark (two or three weekends in October), and Christmas Candy Lane (Christmas season of course) were free admission / Pay Per Ride (with a POP wristband option). Park Passes would NOT do you any good on these "Free Admission" events.
Last year (or was it two years ago?) they changed this to a POP admission fee (around $20) sometime over the previous "off season"... AFTER many people had bought / renewed their passes at the lower rate. They then offered an "upgrade" for about $25. People who upgraded could use their passes for the spring, halloween and christmas events, people who did not, could not.
This past year, passes had increased in price with ALL passes being honored in Sprintime, regular season, halloween and Christmas.
So, while the prices have increased, your pass is now good in April, and then basically from May to the end of December as opposed to May to mid September under the old pricing.

Only if you pull out your Coasterbuzz membership card and demand it. :)
Note the line "initial estimates put the project cost at $12.1 million."
