Hershey Teasing 2008 Attraction

OhioStater's avatar
So what does 12.1 million worth of intamin track build for you?
12.1 is not a lot. How much was Maverick, $26 million? Maybe it's a ball/4th dimension coaster...

Storm Runner was $12.5 million. Without the expensive hydraulic launch, $12.1 million is probably enough money for a decent amount of track.
I'm having a thought here...you know that little teaser letter that puts the annoucement as September 27? How about this for 10.02.07:

10 - Hershey already has 10 coasters, so this fits the "what's better than 10" question

2 - the park's second intamin coaster

7 - number of inversions?

Just a thought. That way it would work the Sept. 27 date in for an announcement while still using the 10/2/07 as well....thoughts?

Haha no I'm not giving Patrick the finger

Hello, all....This will be my first post.

Just wanted to share this: I was looking around the nantimi site. I found a "hidden" reference that leads me to believe that this will be an Intamin Hyper.

I also found an additional link that generated a coded message. Once I uncoded it (not difficult, just time consuming) I had a message that said:

"All will be known soon...you will know sooner"

The message also gave an email address to contact. Once I sent the email, I received a reply that stated:

"Now is not the time for formal contact and there IS more to come.

For them 9.27, you 9.26.

more later."

So based on what I found, and with the other page that was revealed earlier in this thread, it does look like there will be some sort of announcement/information release on the 27th. It will be intestering to see what they send out on the 26th as well.

^Ahha! Never thought to click on "Hypershaker Vault", did I...

Now let's see if this produces the same results...

Haha no I'm not giving Patrick the finger

^^and someone at Nantimi has a Ckret...

Haha no I'm not giving Patrick the finger

I'm thinking the whole nantimi page is a setup in itself. The only thing you get when you google most of the names of the staff is the nantimi site itself. Same with the firms they supposedly worked for, as well as the "Chicago Contemporary School of Art & Design."

Sounds like we're being taken on an interesting ride already. Anybody who wants to play sleuth can PM me, and I'll gladly forward you what e-mails I've received.

Also received this from another link at the namtimi site:

Louise Mervine/Park/Hershey is out of the office.‏

From: lmervine@hersheypa.com

Sent: Sat 9/08/07 9:03 AM

I will be out of the office starting 09/07/2007 and will not return until
07/31/2010.

I have resigned my position with HE&R effective Friday, September 7, 2007.
My email will be checked periodically for a few weeks. If this is for
advertising, please contact our agency, MayoSeitz Media, at 215.647.8700.
If you need immediate assistance, please email Mike Peiffer at
MPeiffer@HersheyPA.com.

I'll admit to being a little clueless on this one. Its the first time I've seen
someone a) with an out of office message for an out of office period that will last
nearly three years, and b) with an out of office message for someone that has resigned.

Don't know what to make of this one.

AirTime, Are you kidding me??! On your first post on this site you bring in more nantimi info than I've seen....and I've been looking! On top of that, people from Hershey are e-mailling you? Is this legit or what...I still think that this is way beyond what hershey would do.... they have up to this point been very straight forward with all of their announcements. This seems way too cloak & dagger for them...I just can't buy it. Signs in the park said 10/2/08...suddenly "nantimi" is saying that the announcement will be before that. Let's get a reality check here; do you think that hershey would be announcing a date just to change the date???!! Come on!
I can't speak toward what people at Hershey will or will not do...however, I can assure you that all I have posted is legit.

All I did was to follow the links on the nantimi site. I also sent an email to every address on the nantimi site (the new logo on the home page, the "Hypershaker Vault link, jobs@nantimi, info@nantimi, etc), most of them resulted in some sort of reply. The one from "louise mervine" was one of those. (I also sent an email to the mpeiffer address, but I have not received any reply).

If there is any doubt, just tell me where it is and I'll be glad to tell you where on the nantimi site that I found my information. I assure you...it is there.

^Ditto to the Louise Mervin e-mail. I also received that, not sure how. Not sure the significance either.

This looks like a real place, anybody brave enough to place a call?

Using Yahoo site explorer it looks like the the only links to the Nantimi site are from park related pages (Cbuzz, TPR, Screamscape, etc) and it was registered 27 days ago.

I'm just doing some basic googling and stuff. Most people have probably already covered this. Like others have confirmed all the stuff on the website is fake, but stuff in the emails obviously exists.

Sorry if someone already covered this but has anyone tried to login? I tried a few obvious combinations but it all took me to here -

Disappointment.

It sounds to be what Lost did/does with websites linked to their TV show. They created fictional websites that gave "information" about the plot lines on the show. Also, I Heart Huckabees did the same thing with the Huckabees' store website tied in with the movie. It seems to be the new trend in marketing.

^^A nice sign stating the ride will be closed today?

Honestly, if it turns out to be a chain-lift hyper, I may end up with a HERCO pass next year... ;)

There's also NIN's Year Zero, and all the stuff going on with Cloverfield. Plenty more.

AirTime, Sorry man. I just found myself riding the donandmikeshow conspiracy train! I tried the e-mail thing and I didn't get an e-mail from louise mervine. I did call MayoSeitz media and they do work with hershey but they've never heard of nantimi. I asked about all of the nantimi employees and they've never heard of any of them....they seemed annoyed at the end of the conversation. I also wrote Mike Peiffer and didn't get an e-mail back. Not sure what this means.

Interesting. I wouldn't put it past Hershey to do some sort of viral marketing thing like this but it seems odd that they would include real life establishments in something like this and then not let them in on it.

Then again if it were really just a coaster dork with too much time on his hands how would he be email to send emails from Hershey's URL? And if this really weren't associated with Hershey and Hershey is reading this, knowing we're being sucked into it, wouldn't they issue some sort of statement saying that the Nantimi site has no associations with Hershey?

I mean we're calling the establishments we see in the emails, you'd think Hershey would want an end to that ASAP if this wasn't their doing.

This is the first I've looked at this thread since the whole 'nantimi' thing started. Hilarious stuff!

Are you guys really still unsure whether or not this is a viral campaign?

Really?
