Green Vekoma track settles in the snow at Six Flags Ohio

Posted | Contributed by Chip Wood

Sure looks like Vekoma to me!

All kinds of pics and even a bit of speculation about the ride's name and theme. If there were any doubts that a Flying Dutchman would be dropped into Northeast Ohio's Six Flags representative, you can snuff them out now.

It's all but official, and you can check out all the pics and info by heading over to Refreshinglook.com.

(While we're on the subject of Six Flags Ohio and the nearby residents, let me just take this opportunity to say that I think Aurora and Mantua have some of the most clever company names around. I mean, how great is "Suds Your Duds" for a laundromat and "Just Clayin' Around, Kiln Time" for a pottery shop? If only Pennsylvanians could be that clever...)

For one thing the theming will not be joker because his main colors are green and PURPLE, not black. I do think the theming will be the Green Lantern, or the Krypton Comet.

The ride could probably not fit in the Gotham City section unless this happens.

1. The Park completely demolishes Grizzly run

2. They move the sky coaster.

3. Hang half the ride out over the water.

Then, how would people get over to the Raging Wolf Bobs. If they walked underneath, there would have to be at least 15 feet between the track and the path. That would leave the largest drop to be only around 100 feet, minus the 15 to 20 feet of drop the ride needs to get going of the top of the hill, and turn over to flying. That would leave a 80 ft. drop, and only small inversions could be used with the minimal speeds that the drop would produce.
What exactly is a Flying Dutchman?
There are footers behind RWB and Grizzly Run has been 1/2 removed, and how do you know that SFO just got 115 ft. variance in Bainbridge but is going to have it strech to Aurora where it`s 180. It could also use tunnels or trenches.
I forgot a Flying D-man is what Vekoma calls the flying coaster. They`re a dutch company and they`d be flying so the workers at Vekoma (if riding)would be flying dutchman.
keep in mind there is Riddler and Joker, two different guys
5 Trees? LOL! I live right by reminderville, and I pass it on the way with my bike to sfo! Which i Live 10 Minutes on bike from! :)
Trust me you don't know what you were talking about.
Í go to Vekoma next week (I'm from Swalmen. That's only 15KM from Vlodrop. In Vlodrop is vekoma's Dutch office.)I shell ask thim or they know anything about it.
CoasterDude27, there is no way that the track at SFO is Arrow 4-D. 4-D track has double rails
Reminderville isn`t even a mile long
I think that the name is definately going to do something with the riddler or the joker. And brian_m just because its black doesnt mean it wont do anything with the joker. Look at Riddlers Revenge. The riddler villian that youve seen in movies and comic books has purple on him. So it could do something with the joker. But most likely the riddler.
What i mean about the purple on the riddler villian in movies and comic books is that the riddler coasters that have been put in have no purple on them what so ever. Theyre all black and green. But i still think our best bet on the name is going to be something like riddler or Kryptonite but dont hold me to my word on that. It could be something completely different.
anything but "X-flier"
