Sure looks like Vekoma to me!
All kinds of pics and even a bit of speculation about the ride's name and theme. If there were any doubts that a Flying Dutchman would be dropped into Northeast Ohio's Six Flags representative, you can snuff them out now.
It's all but official, and you can check out all the pics and info by heading over to Refreshinglook.com.
Just to throw this out there... it could still be a giant Invertigo. They're all the rage with Six Flags these days, you know. ;)

Vekoma it is, whatever it is. The two bolt-holes in the end of the rail are a dead giveaway, moreso than the double backbone.
'Course, it could just as easily be a split Corkscrew as anything else. We can probably assume it is neither a Boomerang nor an SLC since the park already has those.....

A regular size Invertigo is 120' tall...a 'giant' [or Super] Invertigo is over 180' tall. But you are right...the Invertigos do have double spine track as well.
Thanks for the pictures Chip! With those colors I would say there is a possibility of a Riddler theme , that would be OK.
It is a Vekoma flying alright. Looks identical to Stealth when it was sitting in PGA's graveyard lot.

Thanks Jeff for putting that idea in my head!!! :( ;)

Ride with full FORCE
Look at the curve of the track, at no point on an Invertigo is the track that stiff. And the double spine is a dead giveaway.

Yep, looks like a Vekoma FD is all but a lock. I'm now pretty curious about its theming. I doubt it'll be Batman themed due to its location being so far away from SFO's 'Gotham City' area (if you can call it that). With it being next to Superman, I'd hope for either a Superman villian theme (like Darkseid or Luthor, keeping the track color in mind), or a generic name and theme(like Villian or Boss). Also does anyone know if Hyde's Nasty Fall is going bye-bye due to this addition? Just curious.
I think we are looking at a Joker themed ride. There isn't any other green and black characters are there?
Looks like I won't have to go to PGA after all this year.

If it is a Joker-themed ride, I am curious to see how Six Flags will incorporate the name into a "flying" coaster.
Why is it called a flying dutchmen? I thought they were just called flying coasters?
Could also be Doomsday.
Think never Villain, Perfect colors

TexCyclone
Maybe even DArkSeid's Revenge

So SFO is gettting a Flying Dutchman. It is going to be a Riddler theme. You just know it cause SF cant come up with a new name for a coaster.

Best Steel
1.) Millennium Force - CP
2.) Medusa - SFMW
3.) Top Gun - PGA
4.) Stealth -PGA
The best possibility of the name is what was suggested on that web site: Green Lantern. It only makes sense (that is, if the ride is indeed themed)! He flies through the sky, battling evil. It'd be original instead of always using Superman or Batman characters.
The only question remains (aside from the name). Is it going to be a clone of the first flying dutchman, or will a vast improvement that will set the standard (and wind up as a clone in a few years to 70% of the other Six Flags parks? :-)
Just a thought...
Like I said in another topic....
Riddler belongs in Gotham City...
On the other side of the park!
Definately not Riddler....
The track you see is very similar to the stealth track. The double pipe spine appears on the loop at PGA. Congrats on getting the next Flying Dutchman
