Green Vekoma track settles in the snow at Six Flags Ohio

Posted | Contributed by Chip Wood

Sure looks like Vekoma to me!

All kinds of pics and even a bit of speculation about the ride's name and theme. If there were any doubts that a Flying Dutchman would be dropped into Northeast Ohio's Six Flags representative, you can snuff them out now.

It's all but official, and you can check out all the pics and info by heading over to Refreshinglook.com.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the first FD (Stealth) has both single and double-spined track.

Does a SLC have any double-spined track anywhere in the ride?
I don't think there is double-spined track on an SLC, the only other Vekoma ride that I remember having double-spined track at certain points was the Kamikaze in Wildwood NJ, which is now SFOG's Ninja.
And the Ninja is just a 5-inversion sit-down looper, nothing inverted.
Yes Jeff...

Stealth has mostly one-Spined track with the the loop and maybe some other spots having a double-spined track.

It's too soon to tell. These look like track pieces and supports for a turn around into the station and turn out to the lift hill. One thing is clear, with the wide curve, it's not a boomerang.

Oooooh, my freekin' head.... Too many G's Too many G's! No, no, Too much Beer before the G's!
First, yes, why would they get an Invertigo when they already have a boomerang...? Oh yes, this is Six Flags. Anything goes there...

I've come to this conclusion. Unless it's a prototype, it's going to be a flying dutchman. Vekoma, in the last few years has done only three things. SLCs (SFO already has one), Boomerangs and spinoffs (SFO has a boomerang, and the Boomer/Invertigo track has NO FLAT TURNS AT ALL), and flying ducthmen. So, that must be the case. Whoo hoo!

Jeff -yep FD has both
Goudrix (multi looper) in Paris has double spine in some of the inversions

THERE IS DOULE SPINE ON THE SLC!!!
WHERE you ask?

The Lift Hill....look closely
The neatest thing happened to me today well here it is,well I was at SFO,for u nerds out there Six Flags Ohio,in the back of the park there "are"(there you happy)pieces of "The Rocket" that they took out to put in th"Mind Eraser"!!!I got some quick shots of them, before secuirity came!!!

Ps"My god what is your guy's problem with me substiting "u" fo you!!!!! *** This post was edited by montu on 12/29/2000. ***
they should get a giga
A giga will never be put into SFO until the 180ft height limit is changed in Aurora. Anyways i think they would go with a hyper before giga, but that will be a while.
This coaster is gonna be awesome. I was out at PGA this summer and I got a chance to ride Stealth and it is great. It's not a head-basher like the Vekoma SLC's and Boomerang's are.
No the height limit isnt 180 feet its taller than that cause S:UE is 188 feet tall,DUH!

The height limit at SFO as of this post is 180' near Rt. 43 and 65 feet near Wolf Bobs. All rides installed exceeding this height limit has been voted upon by the counsil of Aurora & residents and either granted or denied.

Believe it or not, the rides that neighbors complain the most of are the Villian (the loud siren it has) and Wolf Bobs (due to noise).

I was once told that the height limit would go up to 400', but since i have seen absolutly no evidence of that, I am discarding the rumor
why not a giga
Um.....then they shouldn't of moved to a area that has a amusement park. They shouldn't complain, instead be glad that they are EVEN GETTING A COASTER! I live 5 minutes from the park, in aurora shores. The people on the REMINDERVILLE streets need to get a life. :)
Well, I can semi-understand their plight. Personally, I wouldn't want to live directly next to an amusement park, either.

However, we have to consider this: How long has Geagua Lake really been as big (and loud) as it is now? When did they get their first loud thrill ride? I'm sure there are some residents who have lived by the park longer than some of the noisiest rides have been there.

You think the neighbors of SFO are bad, poor Cedar Fair's Dorney Park really have had trouble building due to the locals.

They are really strict
I can`t even believe Reminderville is a township, there`s a couple houses and about 5 trees.
It could be Arrow 4-D track ;)
Let`s just say i know
