Great Vertigo 'train' - would it be possible on B&M's?

Jill, my personal "window on the GP"...

All spouses, immediate family and significant others of coaster enthusiasts are disqualified by association as a GP barometer of any kind.

Didn't you read the rulebook? :)

Yes, many of the Premier Rides coasters had their OSTRs removed. But let's not fool ourselves into equating that company's engineering and ride experience with that of B&M. How on earth Premier designs rides with long straight stretches of track that have side-to-side headbanging is beyond me.

Seriously though, Speed: The Ride kept its OTSRs, but that ride's specific layout really means there's almost no gain to be had from making the change. Oops, now I'm making Gonch's argument for him, LOL.

I was about to say the same thing, LOL. Speed is a great ride OTSRs or not. My problem isn't OTSRs per se, but when they're huge and bulky, like SLCs, on coasters that are headbangers, I don't like them. If they're smaller and fit closer to the shoulder, I don't mind them at all. Didn't mind Maverick's one bit.

This entire discussion is sooo six years ago...

I've argued time and again since the very first Premier retrofit that their coasters are proof that OTSRs are not necessary on most coasters. That said...the very last company I'd ever suggest to replace their OSTRs is B&M.

I care a lot less about this now than I (apparently) did in that thread. I still maintain that I'm right, but it just doesn't matter to me that much anymore. Now, to whom do I hand over my enthusiast card?

Isn't it fun when you've been here so long that you don't have to say anything new, but rather just reference old threads?

Yeah, but that means I have to do a search, since I've changed screen names.

I had to do a search, too. It was pretty exhausting typing 'proof otsr vater' into the search field.

I know right? My fingers get so tired.

If you look closer at the 6-year-old thread, you'll see that within it I actually reference a 16-year-old thread on rec.roller-coaster. So yeah, it's nice to be able to do that... 8-)
