Great first drops under 200ft

I think I'll probably get a little slack for this, but I'm going to put my vote in for Boulder Dash.  No, it's not an 'airtime-machine' or anything like that, but with the scenery, the flat section before the drop, and the speed run-out at the bottom I think it's my favorite.  Who can't love the part of the handrail that is cut to fit around the trunk of that one tree?!

TBDBITL for life!

One of the most intence drops I've seen(at least on video) would have to be the Crystal Beach Cyclone, that first drop looks wicked for a woodie. Too bad it's not around anymore, and can't realy be counted. So, I'm gonna vote for a few of my fav. drops. The Beast, Villain has some great airtime in the back, Gemini, and as for steel coasters, Batman Knight Flight and X-Flight as good first drops, and the Vortex is ok.

Actually for what it's worth the Hershey Wildcat's first drop is very similar to the CB Cyclone and the rest of the ride *is* pretty excellent as well.

Anyone who likes twisters owes it to themselves to try that coaster out. One word of warning though, you *must* ride leaning forward a bit or the coaster will batter you senseless. With proper riding technique I think it's a really fun ride though.

* The Legend @ HW
* Superman: Ride of Steel @ SFNE
* Mondial Top Scan

Alright, I have been reading everyones choices on best first drops and me personally the first drop is the best part of the ride. it is almost impossible to name every single one but some of my fav from around me are RWB,big dipper, bkf, villian, mind eraser, X flight (sfwoa), boss, screamin eagle(sfstL), magnum, raptor, mantis, gemini,(cp) beast, vortex,(PKI) superman ride of steel(SFDL) and i could continue but i can't remember the names of every other ride i think the first drops are the best and if you don't have a good first drop it gives you a bad first impression of the ride so they better make it up in the coaster part.
I always can remember as a kid when I rode Viper (SFGAdv) that the first drop was very steep.  I was a kid back then and that's the only reason I went back on that ride.

Gemini is another one that comes to mind.  Whe I was younger I put my hands up on the first drop and surprisingly I got out of my seat.  It was fun.

TOP 5
1. Alpengeist, 2. Magnum XL-200, 3. Superman: Ride of Steel (SFNE), 4. Volcano: The Blast Coaster, 5. Apollo's Chariot
Close Calls 1. Grizzly (PKD), 2. Batwing, 3. Montu

Cornball Express...ooooo yea
I'd have to say Batman Knight Flight, that is one intence rollercoaster!

TOP TIME ALL FIRST DROPS
1. RAGING BULL @ SFGAM FRONT ROW WHAT A HEAD CHOPPER 2. DEMON WITH A LOOSE RESTRAINT ON THE BACK CAR.
3. X FRONT ROW LEFT SEAT WOO HOO
4. AMERICAN EAGLE FRONT ROW RED TRAIN
My favorite first drops under 200'

Steel

1) DP's Talon (amazing air for an invert IMHO)

2) VF's Wild Thing (207' hill, 195' drop) and CP's Magnum (tie)

and honorable mention to Talon's midcourse drop before the corkscrew/helix finale.  Not exactly a first drop, but better than the first drop of many other coasters.

Wood

1) PCW's Royal Canadian Minebuster

2) LC's Boulder Dash--just 'cuz it's so durned pretty.

It's great to see so much love for the Demon!  Seriously, anyone who visits SFGAm this Summer, don't pass it up.  The drop is only 90', but you are literally plastered to the OTSR the whole way down.  Then your booty slams into the seat as you enter the first loop.  LOVE IT.

Is it the roar of Kumba or the kumba of Roar? Discuss!
The Beast
Come on guys! Hersheypark's WILDCAT! The first GCI and it still has my favorite wooden first drop.  Honorable mentions: Great Bear, Phoenix.  For pure looks, Hercules.  The drop right over the lake is pretty awesome looking and you know it.

WOW!!!

Im surprised no one noted Ghostrider's THE DROP...

The one out of the second turnaronud coming out of the block brakes. Actually, almost all of the drops on that coaster are great.

Also, Roar in the back at SFMW... airtime!!!

At this time, im just the right size so that the lap bar stays about 3-5 inches up, and i cant push it a click down, so i end up getting a LOT of airtime.

As for steel, im going to have to go with my home town and say Canyon Blaster... no idea why that drop is so great... especially in the back... its like being launched a little bit as the front of the train completes that little drop and the back car is still on the lift... FUN!!!

Did we forget thrill rides here?

Since there is only one real drop, im going to have to say Big Bang option on VertiGo... everyone looked so little facing down the ground so high up!

I havent been on PP at KBF, so ill say Snake River Falls at CP for a water ride...

And the talles drop on California Screamin looks steeper than it really is when your on it...

And i have yet to ride Deja Vu, X, or a B&M dive machine... and has anyone been on a tilt coaster? or Ultra Twister?

There are too many to list. Some of my favorites would be Lightning Racer, Great White, SROS, and Magnum.
I would say: Wildfire back seat, Shivering Timbers front seat, The Beast front seat and Batman Knight Flight. Thats just a name of few for me.

Gotta side the American Eagle and the Demon, having worke don them long ago and ridden them much, pick them feet up while going and let go!!. Kraken at Sea World was just fantastic in the front seat, just wild. Also honorable mention to every drop on the Viper at SFGAm. Each one whips you out and hauls you back down something fierce.
