Great first drops under 200ft

There are some great first drops that happen to be under 200ft. One that comes to my mind is Gemini at CP. For some strange reason, the drop always makes my stomach drop and it's only 125ft.
Same with Shrivering Timbers at MA.What first drops give your stomach the willy's?
Even after NITRO, Apollo's Chariot, Raging Bull, Sonny, and yes even Millie, I *STILL* think SFGAm's American Eagle has the best first drop of all the coasters I've ridden.

Some of my other favorites are the drops on ROAR and Lightning Racer. But those are only cool if you're in the back :)

Actually, I felt like the first drop on Shivering Timbers was its weakest link.  For a coaster that is other wise so fantastic, i just felt like it needed a more explosive opening.  Its just kinda bland if you ask me.

I know lots of people will disagree with me on this one, but the opening sequence on The Boss is the best section of track on a coaster, ever.  On the first drop, the massive, stand up, OHMYGOD type airtime is just classic CCI.  But then, you hit that flat stretch, and the train starts bucking and shaking like it knows what's coming.  The train is the yanked out from under you, everybody is slammed to the left, at night its pitch black, the structure of the coaster is hurtling around you, and it feels like the train is trying to rip the track apart with all its might, and it feels like the track is trying to rip the track with all its might.  I know that after this point, its kinda after the first drop (hey, sue me :) ) but you then FLY over a tiny little bunny hop, crash down, and then rise up into the first turnaround.  Its violent as hell, painful as hell, and for a lot of people, even here, its just too much.  For me, though, its just about right.  :)

Personally, most of my fav first drops over under 200 ft.  On CCI's, the norm is huge, stand up air on the first drops.  You can find it on The Boss, Raven, Legend, Twisted Sisters, and many others.  The only one that i'm going to mention in detail, though, is the Legend's.  For one thing, its BIG.  People often over look the fact that The Legend is really a pretty big coaster.  Second, it curves to the left just as you are being flung out of your seat.  Third, the bottom of this drop is PERFECTLY banked, giving you a vicious lateral and a very heavy positive G, all in a very dark tunnel.  Its actually very reminiscent of the Beast's helix, and knowing Will, I bet that's what he was going for.  Once again, is wild, its physical, and its just all around hard core, which makes it one of the best first drops in the world.

Idle hands were orient to her.

One of the best first drops I've experienced on a looping coaster is the one on Wildfire.  You get airtime the whole way down when you sit in the back.  I loved the whole ride, but I just couldn't get enough of that first drop.

ST's first drop is world's better in the back. It sets up the float-style for the rest of the ride.
Lighting Racer, Villain.
Back seat of Vortex at PKI.  Don't ask my why.  Insane floaty air.

I would agree with that. AE's is the only drop that still has the power to make me close my eyes. I don't know what it is, but I have to hold on tight to that entirely inadequate bar and close my eyes aboiut halfway up the lift hill.

For under 200 ft drops Wildfire at SDC has to be one of the best drops. Sit in the back and get yanked up into the OTSR the whole way down.

I know I am going to get flamed for this, but the Demon at Six Flags Great America has a great drop.  You get enough speed coming around that turn that it really takes the wind out of you when you get yanked into the drop.  The backseat especially get great airtime on that drop.  The other good one is the last drop on Cyclops at Big Chiefs.  Way under 200 feet and the most airtime I have ever had on a coaster.

Homey G, I couldn't agree more. The difference from the first and last seat on Vortex is amazing. As soon as you crest the hill in the back seat you're airborne until it bottoms out. It's almost like a 140-foot free fall ride.

I hear that Magnum's is under 200'.  Anyway, the first drop off of the Beast into that tunnel was good.
I have to say the Beast dive into the tunnel, and Vortex in the last car.
Kick, you're not alone.  I love Demon's drop.  espically how it lifts you out of your seat and then slams you back down at the bottom of the drop right near all those rock formations.  classic.  Eagle has a great drop as well, but I've never had to shut my eyes.  I think the only time I close my eyes on coastes is if there's something in my eye or if there's mist and that's mostly in Florida.

I think the first drop on Thunderbolt at KW, right out of the station is pretty great.  Even though I know it is there it is still exciting.

Wildfire in the back seat.  Best first drop on a B&M IMHO.

Vortex at PKI has some great air in the back seat, and I like BKF's curving drop.

I really like the first drop of PR/SP.  From the back it has this weird floaty curved air, and from the front you get to hang down on the bank for a bit before the back of the train crests.  It's also good because it's just a little taste of what to come on the massive drop.

Speaking of which (while we're on this topic).  Are there any other coasters whose biggest drops aren't the first.  I guess right in Kennywood, the Thunderbolt.

The legend lives!

I know I might catch a little heat for this, but how about Demon at SFGAm? This one's under 100 ft and I'm totally out of my seat every time I ride it.

Is it the roar of Kumba or the kumba of Roar? Discuss!

Canyon Blaster located in the Adventuredome in Las Vegas has an amazing 75ft drop that launches you out of your seat. Something about Arrow coasters that always give amazing first drops.

Have you ever considered that maybe it's not the park that's the problem, but YOU?
