GL Announcement Nov 10

I have only been to the park once, so my thoughts may be way off. I think the most congested part of the park is "T" that consists of the main path and the little jut that goes back to Villain.

I have no clue what the park would do if it had " a lot" of room. I can picture a water park on the other side of the lake. It would look really nice over there by itself, but extending the amusement park that way would be nice too.

Bottom Line: I have no idea what to expect.

Ask yourself what the most congested part of the park is, then answer my previous question.

There's another big surprise on the way... and it has nothing to do with attractions.

Hmmm...Bigger and Better Bathrooms w/showers!!!!!! FINALLY!

The main thing I would move is the Nations's best carousel. That thing doesn't get the recognition it deserves. On top of that it's hidden. Move that thing so it is at the front of the park. Take out the carriage house and put it there. Or take out the ring toss and horse racing game and put it there. Of if they opened up the old Wild Life side, put it over there by the main entrance.

I don't think it would be good to move Pepsie Plunge. It would seem MUCH MUCH easier to rebuild a new one somewhere than move it. Though, a flume ride would fit in very nice as mentioned many times before over in the former Wild Life area. I see them removing it before moving it. But if it did get move, I see it going in Dolphin Cove area.

Hymmmm... I'd move a few things over from CP to make room for that 500ft coaster... ;)
DWeaver, are you POSSIBLY insinuating the swan boats joined with White Water Landing? ;->

I don't know what might go there, But I like the one idea with the Wal-Mart. Wooohooo Rollbacks!

SF built three large coasters in the winter of '99-'00 and all three were ready to go on opening day. If my memory serves me correctly, BKF didn't go vertical until early January. To add on to what has already been stated, with a large chunk of the former Wild Life side fenced off, who knows what's been going on over there. We can't see anything from the north side or even Sky Scraper.

I've heard that the former Dolphin Harbor has already been demolished and the Starcastle Voyage kids ride that was located by the waterski stadium has been moved to the parking lot.

Don't get your hopes up for a coaster. You'll only be disappointed.

I don't think its *too* hard to figure it out...but thats just me:).

I just hope I get back to GLP next year for more Dominator, Steel Venom, Villian, and cheese on a stick. I may even hit the waterpark next time.

Maybe they will be getting the same rental cottages that they currently have at CP, and are installing at WoF for next year. They would then make the park more resort-like, and more likely to bring in families. I know I would stay there on the property then.
Maybe they're going to build a hotel on the animal side, with a huge sandy beach or something resort like.

Jeff has me interested.

I am on record for saying they could get a new log flume, and after visiting Florida last week I WANT a new log flume, ala Buzzsaw falls.

What would I do if I had tons of room...when you state it like that it becomes even more difficult to guess. A giant camp snoopy? Resort?

Or you could just think about what's ridiculously crowded now...

My point is to think more along the lines of "different" than "new."

They could stand to move a few rides across the lake. Shipwreck Falls could be moved. They need to give the Big Dipper some love and get some rides out of it's way. That is the section of the park that is crowded. There are some rides that could stand to go for good. Double Loop is pretty much worthless, and Thunderhawk sucks. Who knows, maybe Six Flags would buy it back. Whatever they do, I would hate to see all of the beautiful landscaping on the other side go. A hyper would be great, but please keep the flowers and trees intact.

Thunderhawk is one of the better SLC's and I don't see what use opening up Double Loop's would serve, seeing how Villain was kinda shoe horned right next to it.
If I was going to move anything across the lake, I would move the waterpark over there. There is a good sized hill which would be great for building waterslides. I would also keep it as a pay one price for both parks but I'm not sure that is Cedar Fair's (ie Kinzel's) mentality.

How the above translates into "The Announcement You've Been Waiting For" though is beyond me.

Why would SF buy the park back?

I could see the waterpark moved, but would assume that would require major work we would have seen allready.

Maybe move the two water rides over to the other side, but then you would still have a rafting ride that is out of place compared with the water rides.

Am I the only person that noticed the orange markings on the ground at the end of Thunderhawk (behind the photo booth). Looks like a large, or should I say "giant" flat ride base marking to me. Just a guess, of course.

As Sergeant Shultz would say "I know NOTHHHing" (Am I showing my age?)
