I'll say what I said in the CP thread here too - a super-sized Maurer-Sohne (or even standard!) would be an absolutely perfect fit for GL. It would fit the "family" theme a lot better than a hyper, B&M or otherwise (and I don't know which I would chose, which is saying something since Nitro is one of my top coasters).

My favorite MJ tune: "Billie Jean" which I have been listening to alot now. RIP MJ.
BUT, (and this is a big one)...There is many parts of the park that we can't see. And if they do build a statin by Shark attack, there is A LOT of room to either A) go towards the parking lot, or B) go behind the Happy Harbor Flats in that big grassy field, and then maybe clear out a few trees. That I believe wouldn't take at all long to clear out. Plow, or perhaps even keep the building, to make the station (that might even be pretty easy), clear a little land. Heck, there is a lot of terrain over there. Why flatten things, use what you have! Not to mention, it would be pretty easy to level the marsh and use it. Then you wouldn't have to worry when it floods (much like what they have done with the land under Dominator. I really think that not much has to be done with the land or area over there to add a hyper. Now if the station was to go by the old aquaquarium, that's a different story. At the same time though, a lot could be going on that we have not seen (though from different view points, it doesn't look like any building, stadium, or midway has been touched on the outside.)
I hope they'll finally add those lights to the coasters we have been hoping for ;)

I'd imagine the biggest part of the project to be the excavation of dirt and the pouring of fillers... the structure of a coaster can rise in a month or so. How long did it take Xcelerator to get built once the ground work was done? Three weeks? Maybe four?
there is a though....i would love to see a B&M hyper as bad as anyone else, but lets not forget that Xcelerator is a hyper, and from what I hear doing very well out there on the left coast.
There's another big surprise on the way... and it has nothing to do with attractions.

Do you mean that suddenly, you aquired all of the land that the former Sea World was on?
If so, then I would remodel the former marine-life stadiums for theatrical use (much like the Good Time Theater at CP). I would move the Pepsi Plunge to the hill by the bird stadium, and in it's place widen the midway and add a rock'n'tug.
Replace the former Dolphin Cove with Headspin, and in HS's place restore the former Flying Scooters. Then, move double loop to the area that Happy Harbor Nets currently occupies. (If you want to use the nets go to Chuck E. Cheese) In Double Loop's former place extend the Coyote Creek midway into the Picnic Cove area, then add a Huss Frisbee and Huss Jump^2.
