Flying Turns Update

Don't tell me, I paid something like 6 grand to stay in Port orleans for less than a week.

I could get a hell of a lot nicer vacation than a dopey theme park for 6 grand.

How did you pay "something like" six grand to stay at Port Orleans? At their top rate, for a whole week, it comes out to around $2,000.

So can I just pull a Gonch here and link to this post, this post and (perhaps most importantly) to this post? Thanks.

That's an eight-year-old prediction, for those playing along at home. :)

I'm declaring this thread derailed.

But would they have turtles?

If you really spent that much, you were doing it wrong. And since you knew it wasn't worth it in the first place, you have no one to blame but yourself.

I must be weird or something. I am spending a week in Orlando at a Hilton timeshare and the Hard Rock, then two weeks later driving across the state to camp at Knoebels.

Hey Mr Literal, there's something like a 15 percent hotel tax down there. Park Tix, dining, air fare. That first week of Nov they kill you for air fare to orlando because NJ kids are out of school and it's a popular time to go.

I was responding to what you posted. You posted you had spent something like six grand to stay at Port Orleans. If you had posted you had spent six grand to fly to Orlando, eat, buy tickets and stay at Port Orleans, I'd've not said a word. Don't blame me for reading what you wrote.

That's kind of how I am with Cedar Point... we started out wanting to go there this year, but other than the park what is there to do in Sandusky? Didnt seem like a whole lot to do there.

Well, there's indoor waterparks, nice resort hotels, restaurants, and shopping.

Wait... Where am I?...

You're near Kings Island, wherever that is.

So getting there, eating, and going to the park(s) was too large of a leap of logic for you, in a discussion about "going to Disney".... albeit an off topic one. This is supposed to be a Knoebels FT thread, Heading out Sunday morning, can't wait!

There's all that stuff here. I can't justify a 500 mile car trip for some slightly different rides. The water park is a non starter... there are probably 100 water parks within 100 miles of my house including a GWL.

We were trying to piece together a road trip culminating at a few days at CP, but ran out of enthusiasm.

Better turn in your card now before the coaster police come and remove it by force...

Don't get me wrong, I like coasters, but they're not going to be the centerpiece of my annual week long vacation. We get to 3-4 parks a year, but enjoy other stuff also.

Road tripping to CP had the whole Griswolds to Wally World vibe, stopping off to see the world's 4th largest ball of twine etc....

Exaggerate much?

I'm glad to see that billb can come trolling back through here after an extended hiatus and everyone rises to the bait as predicted. Tyler and Timber-Rider have been quiet this week, so someone has to fill in the gaps in the noise quota.
