LOL They take ride styles that have worked flawlessly for a 50-100+ years and find a way to make them break down constantly.

Of course not, Intamin is in the business of building/supplying rides, contractually on time and on budget. Nobody in their right mind would contract with firm with that attitude. It's a whole other story when it's a project that is done almost entirely inhouse.
And yet, Intamin is still in business, despite failing at what you say their business is. So I guess by extension, Knoebels gets a free pass! :)

^I think they borrow their contract language from Reno911's Lt. Dangle: "We aim to try!" :)
You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)
It opens when it opens. I'll be there on opening day, and so will alot of those who think it's becoming a waste of time.
The funny thing about this all is that if the ride does ever open, it will suffer from the biggest case of anticipointment in the history of roller coasters. I doubt any ride experience can meet the expectations built up by years of non-function.

If it's a ride I'm not interested in at a park I'm not particularly fond of can I be anticipointed?
Finding the answer is finding enlightenment.
At this point I'm much more excited about Black Diamond than FT.

You and me both. And I'm sure there's others. BillB, are you there? :)

Exactly. Not all of us have unrealistic expectations for how fun it will be. There's more to a ride than its physical thrills. Just the fact that I'll be riding a Flying Turns some 50 years after the extinction of its species is enough to excite me.
It may be a "Phantom Menace" for some/many, but I don't see it happening that way for me or anyone else who knew what a Flying Turns was before any info was released by Knoebels and has been excited about it since the rumors started before the official announcement.

So why don't they just run it like a water slide at this point? But instead of water, they pass out skateboards and helmets at the top. Heck, I'll bet alpine slide vehicles would work. ;)
(edit: forgive me if this was already brought up one or more times in the last 59 pages of posts)
Flying Turns has been removed from the price list for 2011, after being there for several years.
On the other hand, Black Diamond has been added at $2. (No height restriction has been posted yet.)
In other news, a quick look over the whole price list reveals not a lot of changes, a refreshing change from the past few years. The most obvious thing I noticed for enthusiasts is that the bumper cars are $1.50, I think that they were only $1.25 last year. Flyers are still $1.25, Phoenix and Twister are still $2.25.

Hell yea...
If one of the larger parks were to do this, they'd be still extracting parking/admission/inflated food prices from you for the privelage of not riding it. The beauty of Knoebels is you can pop in for a few hours and spend 20 bucks if you were so inclined.
awesome video and it confirms 3 trains. If you read the comments someone says it is confirmed to be opening Labor day weekend, :)
There's so many trees around it, are they going to have to get people to go up on the track and sweep the leaves off in the fall?
