They were also letting people get really close to the trough itself, (even had a little entrance and exit queue constructed) you could walk right up to the sharp turn coming out of the figure 12.
On Sunday (when it was less crowded) they were doing even better -- when we walked by, one of the workers (forgot his name -- I apoligize if you're reading this!) offered to walk us up IN the trough.
And of course this WOULD be the one trip I forgot to bring my camera.
Amazing stuff going on in there. It's amazing how intricate the construction on this thing really is. Walking the trough, we got a feel for just how quickly the turns will transition from one direction to the other. This thing is going to be FUN!
Knoebels was also selling some really nice Flying Turns merchandise already. That's one of the many things they've always done well -- no matter how many times I go, I have to hit the gift shops just to see.

Major props to Leonard Adams and Co. for keeping the current coasters in "tip-top" condition while Turns work has continued...hmmmm, Tip Top....that might make for an interesting future project... ;)

I hate websh*ts sometimes when it comes to actually SHARING something or posting a link.
More so, we talked about the trains, no confimation yet as to if they will have OTSR's, but according to the guys that were there, our friends DK and JF would much prefer there not to be OTSR's.
As well, they did state that originally they would have liked to have had the coaster ready for PPP, but the flood took their men off the construction for almost a month while they repaired other rides in the park and got the whole place back to normal. They also lost some guys who were sent out to Bell's to help with the work that had to be done due to the wind storm/tornado they encountered. I have to say one thing I loved was the bio's on the big guys. Kudo's to you all for the great coaster work that you all have already done, and thanks for making this one a reality!
so if you have a myspace accont be sure to join the group.. and be a fan.

My friend Steve happened to notice that one particular coaster was *missing* from Leonard Adams' "track record" of projects.
The irony? It was none other than Phoenix! :)
I'm sure they're plugging away at constructing the Turns, but a lot of what they'll be doing (such as working in the trough) isn't as easily noticed as say building the lift hill. So it might not be worth putting out an update on the website that often.
Keep checking the webcam and the Knoebels site for updates. I'm sure they'll be keeping us posted as to their progress to keep the buzz going.
