Has anyone seen a video of this thing testing? Its lookin quite nice :) http://www.gainsider.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1317
This thing really appears to fly over those first few hills. The ride sure is looking great, I cant wait to hear reviews and comparisons to Voyage.
While after riding Voyage and believing it to be unsurpassable, El Toro looks like it might put up some sort of a fight. Well see next week I suppose.
Can anybody confirm this????

Well, about 4 weeks ago they had a sign out (I wasn't there, but I saw pictures) that said "El Toro opening in 2 weeks."
My point exactly.....
I know Great Adventure sucks too but ya know what...I have a season pass and am there just about every weekend. Why? They have great coasters. That doesn't make up for the crappy way they run the park nor does it make up for this extremely delayed opening of a premier attraction. I guess I'm more turned off by the way the date seems to keep changing. That 2 week sign was uncalled for. And here I am off topic, blah
In any case, you can find me in ET's queue next week thats for sure.
Need to register for CC, but the flyer deadline says June 1 with NO mention of on-site or late registration. Kristin is app. no longer the "person to talk to" at GAdv, getting promoted (about time, LOL). Anyone got any helpful info? Can't call Long-Distance from the office...

In 2006, Six Flags will be opening El Toro, a new wooden roller coaster, the park's first since 1979. It differs from a traditional wooden coaster in that it uses prefabricated track. El Toro will be at the center of a new Spanish-themed section, Plaza Del Carnaval, along with a new section for the younger ones, Bugs Bunny National Park. Its was hoped that this would open March 31 but management has now stated this will not be possible due to some construction delays. It has been stated that El Toro is expected to open late Spring/Early Summer (Mid To Late May to be exact). Reports say that El Toro is scheduled to open for Media Day on June 13, 2006 and open to the public on the next day"
MEDIA ALERT * MEDIA ALERT WHAT: WHEN: WHERE: DETAILS: El Toro, which has the steepest vertical drop of any wooden coaster in the world, 76 white-knuckled degrees, marries the El Toro's launch will be highlighted by roller coaster enthusiasts from six states including New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey taking At 188 feet tall, reaching 70 mph, El Toro ranks among the tallest and fastest wooden roller coasters in the world. In addition to its record-breaking vertical drop, its 4,400 feet of mountainous track has the second tallest, fastest and longest drop of any wooden coaster in America. Jealous of those who have ridden though....
It is a pretty sweet ride...I dont know about it breaking my top ten just yet, i'll have to get more rides on it to know for sure.
The first few hills are absolutely amazing, but once it goes through the big turnaround it seems to slow down ALOT. The S-turns are pretty cool too.
Hopefully they get the two train operation down soon, if that happens the line will go by VERY quickly.
Edit: I've got video of it--http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QUFw2euwhSk *** Edited 6/12/2006 2:39:49 AM UTC by eurpomir84***
