Maybe it's part of the theming...Like how a bull stops and paws its hooves when it's about to charge...when it stops on the lift hill, it's pawing, then stalking around the first turn, then charging around the drop...how's that? :)
Haha no I'm not giving Patrick the finger
What are you saying, Billy? Flat turns? Oh, you mean swoops are MUCH GREATER THAN flats, right? :)
I am not worried about the length at all. The actual track length is well above that of the average woodie. It just goes so darn fast that it seems like a short ride. That speed should translate to a much more exciting ride than a slower ride that lasts 30 seconds longer. I'm curious how much speed it will carry to the break run. *** Edited 6/7/2006 5:54:22 PM UTC by Acoustic Viscosity***

I saw it testing yesterday and quite a few times it didn't stop at the top of the lift.
And the second train is still wrapped in plastic on the transfer track.

Yes, Matt, swooping turns are THAT much better than flat (i.e., boring) turns.
bill, gator, NEVER Billy...not even from "the famous Ed"...

Looks cool, smooth and fast, but definately too short of a ride.
I still don't understand this line of thought. Of course I haven't ridden the thing yet but I'm counting close to 10 moments of potentially massive airtime on this monster...
I dunno, maybe the ride time will be slightly on the short side but I have a feeling having your legs nailed into your lap bar over and over is going to more than make up for it.
- The ride tested a handful of times with dummies. Not once did we see it stop on the lift or at the top.
- It takes the turn at the top of the lift a bit quicker when it doesn't pause.
- The ride looks like it hauls serious ass through the entire layout.
- The linked video does the ride no justice in terms of size, speed or length as it only shows what amounts to the first part (half? 3/4's? whatever) of the ride and none of the crazy twisted ending inside the RT infield (which we were lucky enough to see the train ripping through while climbing the lift on RT).
- I scored some shakey video of the same portion of the ride on my cheap digital camera (didn't feel like dragging the 'big' cameras around in the rain :) ) that also does the ride no justice in terms of size, speed or length that I'll try to make available (as a TR? Maybe some pics too?) as soon as I recover from one of the 'riding-est' days I've ever had at ANY park.
Nice that you got to see it through the s-curves while on Rolling Thunder! Lucky. I have not yet seen the infield with my own eyes. I kind of like that though. I don't want to see it until I come flying up over that hill for the first time. :P

I'll buy that. It definately looks like a great ride though; not the Voyage or anything (what else is), but still cool nonetheless. Those videos never do these coasters enough justice, of course. I might actually have to make it over to that park one of these days.

Who wants a laugh? I do, I do! El Toro was originally scheduled to open on March 31st! bwahaha *refer to my signature*
Ummm, where did you here this? I highly doubt this is true. Rarely does Gadv open a coaster that early.
They never released a date AT ALL (well until today). Maybe you are saying "internally" they planned to open it March 31st, but if that was the case, I'm sure they changed that way back in November.
We get it, SF sucks. But please don't make things up to further your point.
