DDR?!?!

Who here at Coasterbuzz plays and loves DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) as much as I do? I can't seem to get enough of the game...it's so addictive. So what are you thoughts or comments about this?!?!

Ooooooooh Seanieeeeeeeeeeeeee!

I will admit to having "attempted" to play it. I did so virtually on my own (only with a very close friend who I trusted would not laugh at me) at PKI this year opening weekend.

Mr Flaharty has tried a few times to get me to play, but thank goodness I avoided making a complete fool out of myself.

It is hard! Maybe I am just not coordinated enough. But I could not tell if I was steppoing in the right place so I kept looking down. Taking your eyes off the screen for a mere second leads to you getting thrown completely out of sync.

Thus I failed... miserably.

I was a big fan of Parappa the Rapper on PS1, which is the same concept only with your hands, not your feet. Suffice it to say that years of video-game playing have left my hands very agile and my feet very clumsy.

In the arcade, I go for Police Trainer - great game.

I love DDR, I have spent so much money on that game, it is not even funny. I should probably just buy one for my house!

Wonderful, wonderful game. "you're a dance animal" "Show me your hottest moves!"

*sniff* I can never tire of it.

I am a DDR god. Don't question my skillz.

Name someone from the boards who can do Afronova, Dead End, and PARANOiA Rebirth SSR. No one, that's right. I'm a god.

Texas Coasters... wow I'm lucky... IM me if you feel like talking about coasters.

I'm glad to hear that i'm not the only one that loves and is addicted to DDR. I know that I was not the only one but, wanted to just hear from a few of the others here at Coasterbuzz. I am still in the stages of changing from Beginner to Standard. I am not good enough to play Difficult yet, give it some time and I will be. :)

Coaster131: Get over yourself. I play Double DDR Max 2 and you aint seen s**t until youve seen Witch Doctor Double Heavy. And Ive beat an Oni stage or two! :-)

DDR ... love it, want it, play it.

Hmm - this conversation reminds me of the first time I saw the DDR game. It was at Buffalo Bill's near Las Vegas. Some pre-teen was playing and a few people were watching.

He was doing really well, and when he finished, he didn't even stay to see his score; he just immediately walked away - actually he *strutted* away like he was hot s***.

Yeah, you're bad! You can play a video game! I wish I was you!

I had never heard, seen, or played the game until this year. My friend, Jonathan (StarCoasters), introduced my to DDR at our hometown park. Ever since then I have been hooked and can't leave without playing.

OHHHH DDR IS THE BEST GAME. I first played it at GADV. It was $2 and I played it with my cousin. Now I have a japanese DDR5 for playstaion. It's so great. You need a mod chip to play it and they're like $30 pmn Ebay but I think it's worth it.

Explains why i'm up at 4am in the morning. Too scaried to sleep!

I am starting to get hooked on it. If I am in an arcade and there is no one else around then I will always play at least once although I like guitar freaks better.

bah. You should find some of the Japanese machines.. much better games. much better music too.

Hmmm did I mention I have a Japanese PS2 w/ DDR Max (6th mix), 2 Konami Dance pads which are permanently affexed to a wooden stage and to the cement in my basement, DDR 5th mix, DDR 4th mix, DDR Extra Mix, DDR Best Hits..... yes, I know, I am still missing 3rd, 2nd, 1st, Konamix, USA, and Disney Mix... I will have them soon enough.....

.... and did I mention I just got done playing Max 300 before I read this topic? And did I mention I am a DDR ADDICT AND I CANT STOP PLAYING AND I AM A FREAAAKKK (and a member of ddrfreak.com =P)

Sadly, I have yet to play in an Amusement park, hell, I would take a DDR Max 2 machine over a new rollercoaster anyday at Darien Lake, hahhaha.......

Ahhhh yes, the wonders of DDR. Ive lost 15 lb's and still going strong.... did i mention I love DDR? haha....

Right here "Mr. Japan"

I will admit to having "attempted" to play it. I did so virtually on my own (only with a very close friend who I trusted would not laugh at me) at PKI this year opening weekend.

I really love this game. I don't dance, and I don't really care for the music of the game, but I love the game.

Mr Flaharty has tried a few times to get me to play, but thank goodness I avoided making a complete fool out of myself.

The year is not over Shaggster!! I admit, I look like a complete @ss while playing. I don't show off and don't plan on doing any freestyle type stuff anytime soon because that defeats the whole purpose of the game for me. I consider the game to be fun, and to provide a release.

I always get a kick out of those that seem cocky when playing. Saying things like "Trick is for kids, let me show you how its done". To me, they aren't proving much other than they have egos. Perhaps there is a trash talk factor thrown into the deep realms of this game that I don't know about or something?

I've NEVER played it, it looks fun but I never get around to it. I'm going to PGA tomorrow so maybe I'll give it a try. :)
