To each his own... however, Jeff, I find it hard to believe that your wife doesn't feel a bit jealous when you're checking out the "eye candy." Of course if you're both stinking drunk I guess it doesn't matter.

First of all, what exactly is DDR? I read through this whole thing and either I missed something or nobody ever actually explained it. I'm one of those deprived ones who has never played or even heard of this thing, so someone please explain.
I agree wholeheartedly with Den in this alcohol debate. In my humble opinion, anyone who spends their time getting sloshed at bars and gawking at the "eye candy" is in great need of a "life" themselves. I've actually been to a couple bars in my life (both with friends for their birthday and I didn't have any drinks) and the atmosphere is something that begs the question, "What's the point?" I'm sure a lot of people can find a lot better things to do with their time than go get drunk and talk about topics that I wouldn't get into anywhere much less on a message board.
This isn't an attempt to lay down some sort of moral law (that's already there....uh oh, let the stone throwing begin), just my two cents.

Well, DDR is a dance game, therer are arrows pointing up down left or right, when they reach the top, you have to press down on the top left right or down button...that's the best i can do.....i'm bad at explaining. I play my brother's DDR in the basement and i am not that bad! i can pas all the trick! SFGAdv's DDR machine (don't remember what version) is $1 for 3 songs...
and Keansburg Amusemnt Park has the first DDR machine first version i think, and the latest version.
Hey, StandUpFan, I sent an e-mail to your Yahoo account explaining the game a little more.
EDIT: I just realized that I passed 1,000 posts sometime today. Woo-hoo!

*Can't we all just be nice?*
While I respect Den's opinion, in that he isn't passing judgement on anyone, but StandUpFan has crossed a line. You imply that anyone who drinks does so to get drunk regularly, and is therefore a bad person, to which I say you can take your morality standards and insert them far up your ass where they belong. I sure as hell don't need you or anyone else telling me what's right or wrong. Clearly if you've never done it, you don't know if it's fun or not, and varies by person anyway.
My wife is secure, no need to worry.

And in some people's "humble opinion", anyone going around riding coasters as if it's some type of conquest or spendng time talking to people they may never meet about the same and then playing theme park video games when neither of the other two options is viable are in great need of a "life".
And that, my friends, is why opinions are like assholes. Everyone has one and they ALL stink!

I tried this game today in the mall for my first time and was completely aweful. There were too many arrows going in different directions, that I couldn't keep up. I respect anyone who can do this thing well.

I used to go club dancing every weekend throughout my 20's (but rarely now at 31), but never tried DDR. Jillian's here has one.
If you've got a Dreamcast, check out the Dance Mat or
Platform.
BTW, my girlfriend doesn't mind me checking out the eye candy, whether we're drinking or not. Heck, if she see's a girl w/ nice breasts, she points her out to me (and no, she's not bi). It's all about trust, dude.

So True! ;)
As a DDR Player and Coaster fanatic, I say each to his own. You are entitled to your opinions but dont be insulted if I yawn when you preach to me.
DDR - Great Game! Totally addicted but real dancing and clubbing it will never be. Anyone who thinks otherwise must be kidding themselves. Sure great for improving the eye-feet co-ordination, burning a few calories and while providing a creative outlet for some, it will never replace the club atmosphere IMHO.
Getting a life? - Life is what you make of it. I am a Programmer by trade, a DDR Player, a High School Basketball Coach, an international Traveller (not Player damn) and one of those guys who is proud of his Coaster Conquests. I Drink (socially). I Club. I DJ on occassions and have even produced my own music/remixes. However to see me is not to know me.
Imagine how shocked my Basketball team was when I was busting moves on DDR after a Win or My workmates disbelief that I would fly 24+ hours to US to ride Coasters. Well, Brothers and Sisters, Life is as good as it gets right now. It really is like a box of chocolates ... the kind I like! ;)

Pilot - it's also about respect. I respect my wife enough not to insult her by checking out other women. And I love her enough not to need to.
And here's $20 that says that wife you love and respect talks about hot guys (who aren't you) with her girlfriends.
So what?
Playette does it in my presence and it doesn't bother me 'cause I'm secure. She ain't going nowhere. Of course, if said half of what she said she'd kick me in the teeth....so I just don't say it. Nor do I choose to make a big production when other women come around, though I have friends that do. That's just my choice. No need to ram it up anyone else's nose.

This is hilarious. I brought this topic back from the dead to share my newfound love of DDR, and somehow I got embroiled in discussions on drinking and my wife. How the heck does that happen? :)
Anyway, Playa - I bet she doesn't. I don't wanna sound naive, but our relationship is that close that I trust she doesn't, aside from maybe a random mention of Harry Connick Jr. or Justin from American Idol. I know all her friends pretty well.
