Wait. Did you say you never complain? Seriously?

OTSRs
Over crowded parks during the day
Corporate parks
Price
Pay to cut
Six Flags in general
Any park that isn't IB

Yeah. No complaints from Billy ever.

Wait. Did I say I never complain? I complain alot. I also say lots of 'good' stuff.

Thanks for the inventory, Josh :)

But any park that isn't IB? I'd change that to any park that isn't Holidayworld, Dollywood or Hersheypark.

Considering the Satanic origin of the Levithan name does anyone think we could have another Banshee/Mantis situation on our hands?

I am not sure. Would the Canadians care about the two or three people on this planet that may get offended by it?

I would hope not. If it were here in the States there would already be a huge fuss about it. ;)

I've called Rev Phelps so him and his merry band of church goers can go up there and protest it's opening..

Just another Mike..

If they didn't complain about Behemoth I doubt that they would complain about Leviathan.

^Oops!

I was looking at the Leviathan clips again, and I think it's one of the best looking giga/mega/hyper coasters out there. (Other than the ridiculous brake run) At first, I made fun of the late 80's/early 90's aqua color, but the combo of that and blue look pretty good.

Another thing I like is that it is the first giga in the country (and I think only 2nd in the world, other than Steel Dragon 2000) that gives you plenty of time to ENJOY the lift. It's a pro/con thing. The cable lifts are nifty/cool and creepy, but nothing like going up slow - while being able to look around and take things in.

How is Leviathan in any way related to Satan? Though now that you mention the biblical connection, Leviathan occurs most prominently in Job and the name of the other large beast in Job is...Behemoth.

Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."

To me the question isn't whether this will be a popular ride and draw in large crowds. It undoubtedly will. The question is whether the increase in crowds from what would be there anyway is worth the capital investment. With Behemoth still "fairly" new, they probably could have gotten more bang for the buck by putting something else in and saving Leviathan for a few years (How many years were between Magnum and MF? Something like 10?) or putting the capital into something completely different or into other markets. I'd bet Behemoth is still "the awesome new coaster" to most of the park patrons.

^That's a very cool connection, Andy! And they are on either end of the park...

The first big stink the public put up over a ride's name/theme was the Demon at (Six Flags) Great America. The blood water falls over the corkscrew turned to plain water; as well as the bloody pool and fountains. Then the former bloody pool in front of the 3D sign was replaced with flowers. Fire was removed from the trains, as well as the 3D logo. The soundtrack stopped playing and the ride ops no longer had the demonic capes with the little red tail.

Does the former Voodoo at Dorney fall into the "I am offended" category?

Always wondered why one year it was Voodoo, next it was Possessed

Voodoo is a trademark owned by Six Flags, as they have a Voodoo Huss Topspin at Discovery Kingdom. I believe that is why Dorney changed the name.

I'm sheriff of this here rollercoaster.

It's in a lot of Demonology and Anton LaVey's Satanism stuff. Here is some more info.

Leviathan is also a kick-butt album from the amazing metal band Mastodon!

A "God Hates Rollercoasters" sign is not something I want to see anytime soon. ;)

Just noticed that this will have 3 trains. Hopefully this will accomplish the same thing it has on behemoth which is the line never stops moving, and you almost never stop walking. Which makes the wait seem much much shorter. The high break run seems to me is what it is so that it can clear Dragon Fyre. I'm guessing the extra 1000' thats been talked about would have resulted in either the removal of DF, or Go Kart. I have missed feelings about weather or not that would be worth it. Also a question. The first overbank is called a barrel roll, and the second one is called an overbanked hammerhead turn. Is the only difference that the first one exits in a different direction then it enters? Almost like the difference between a loop, and an immalman. The last ellement before the break run is called a high speed turn. It also looks like a 3rd overbanked turn. Thoughts?

I believe overbanked usually means greater than 90 degrees banked, which I don't think is the case for that turn

^ true.. I wonder if thats why the first one is called a barrell roll as well
