CP's coaster to be announced this week

ProgRay: Interesting choices. My hope is that people don't use the acronym becuase it's geeky and stupid. I can't be the only one who wants to punch people in the face who call it "BKF" when "Batman" makes a hell of a lot more sense. I mean, do we call Magnum "MXL2?" I don't think so.

Hey, I couldn't get to CP's site just now for my daily dose of live camera. Ya think they are about to update their site with "some type of news" or something?

Well after the third time I've seen this post today on two different sites, I have to bust your chops too.

No, I don't think it's due to an "updating" of the site. Secondly we KNOW (pretty much) that the announcement is Thursday so the whole idea is irrelevant. If we still had no idea of an announcement date, then this might be interesting to know.

No 'Moosh....LTHB...;)
I haven't been able to get into the site all afternoon. Hmmm. Maybe we will not have to wait till Thursday.

There is a new twist in the Top-Hat. :)

I hope it's called D*** That's A Long Wait! ;)

Reading through some of the past posts in this thread, I have to disagree with those who say that Cedar Point is not in competition with SFMM. Having the most, biggest, baddest, tallest, fastest rides keeps your park in the coaster shows that Discovery and others produce every year. Imagine having your business "Advertised" for an hour on national TV. One park is not going to draw guests from the other, but will stimulate people to make long trips to visit the park.

They may not be competing with eachother for guests, but they are for the airtime.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!

And the coaster is just for show. When you reach the entrance for it, it goes straight for the exit and they say: "You have just experienced: The Line Simulator!"

Cedarpoint.com is back up and no news :(

Why are you suprised? It is basically confirmed that the ride will be announced Thursday.

This is being picky, Chitown, but 399.9999 and 9/10ths feet would actually be 400.8999

I don't care what anyone says. The press release will come out in May, to maximize full suspense for patrons. CP asked PKI if they could use the same technique as TR:TR, but CP would have to pay them. Otherwise, Dragster (which is not its real name, for those not "in the know") would only cost about 2 million bucks.

Somebody print that post out and count all of the things wrong with it so we can have some fun on Thursday. ;)

LOL....come on, you guys didn't know that PKI patented their suspense technique? ;)

Yeah, listen to Peabody. He has a pretty good site with some pictures, although not nearly as good as any of the geocities pages. ;)

I strive for one of those sites with copied stats and pictures that gives you those awesome "this site has exceeded it's bandwidth" pages. ;) And for the record, it's not my site, but the really good pictures happen to be taken by me. ;)

LOL, you guys are complaining that it is not tall enough, but if the trains are like Xcl, i am too tall to ride it any way, so at least you get to ride it!

-----------------

No you're not. Ever read the story of the first Gemini astronauts? One of them (maybe Gene Cernan?) was too tall, like by an inch and a half. The night before his physical exam he stayed up jumping up and down on a hard floor as hard as he could. Well, this compressed his spine so much that he barely squeaked by! Why don't you try this? (And get the least heightening shoes you can find!)

BTW, how tall are you? Oh, when did you ride? Early in the day? You should try late at night, because you will be slightly shorter. I bet a few spins on Supreme Scream would help that too! :)

It's not called Dragster? I always liked, "Top Speed." :)

Jeff,

I'm gonna disagree with you on the competition with SFWOA. If there is a real park battle, it is between Cedar Point and Erie View Park! lol ~Just kidding! It is between Cedar Point and Kings Island. If you ask me, I think SFWOA needs condemed.
