Continued: Cedar Fair announces Geauga Lake will be water park only

Hmm, the end of the url got chopped off some how. Thanks for the fix.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

At least all the ugly theming that was already falling off is all that appeared to burn. I'm assuming the station will be new wherever they move it to anyways. That seems to be their trend.

I wonder if any of the ride was damaged.

I went back and read that thread on the forum with the fire pictures. At least it's not just this forum where people are mean to each other. It's funny to read back through that thread and see everyone call him a liar and say he doesn't know what he's talking about and then see the pictures show up. No one even apologized to the guy.

^^^I would agree with you about the station being new where ever it goes. It doesn't make sense to try and relocate something that has so much concrete in it.

^^ That's because people know it all until being proven wrong... when silence is the best defense!

I doubt the station was going to be relocated. Most wood coaster relocations seem to include the station- or certain parts of it- but steel coasters seem to get new stations when relocated.

It's not like that box was a shining example of architecture. Good riddance!

I sure hope so. It'll be nice to hear BatwingFan SFA complain for yet another year about how he personally is getting the shaft from another of his local amusement parks. Happy Times! :)

^^ Good thing you're not President of the "Steel Coaster Station Preservation Club" or I'd have to take you to task and question why you're not fighting to have this one preserved. ;)
I have a very strong feeling that me and a few other people will have a yay or nay on Dominator being moved to KD this year at tommorow's ACE Fall Frillfest.
That's not a done deal? I figured it was.

^FWIW, Duane doesn't have Dominator as an '08 install at PKD (but ThunderHawk IS there)....

My guess is that he's waiting for a go-ahead, or for something more formal from the park/CF...

I don't know if anyone else already posted this (can't make myself check through 14 pages), but think about all the name changes this park has now had.

1999: 2 parks: Geauga Lake and Sea World of Ohio

2000: 2 parks: Six Flags Ohio and Sea World of Ohio

2001: Six Flags Worlds of Adventure

2004: Geauga Lake

2005: Geauga Lake and Wildwater Kingdom

2007: Geauga Lake's Wildwater Kingdom

I know some of these are rather minor changes, but still that's a lot changes in 9 years.

^^ I'm pretty sure Duane waits until the park makes an official announcement unless there is undeniable evidence.

^Since he helped build what is possibly the smoothest wooden coaster in existence, I'll give him a pass... ;)

What is the smoothest wooden coaster in existence?

Intimidator 305 the tallest most hated coaster nobody has ever ridden...

Kentucky Rumbler gets my vote.

I would go with Rumbler as well.

I survived a Japanese typhoon and the Togo flat ride of death!!!!!!
