Continued: Cedar Fair announces Geauga Lake will be water park only

From what I recall, Dominator's station is made up of steel structural members with a plywood shell. At least the facade is plywood because it was warped and showing signs of poor maintenance in the last picture of it I saw.

I told you on Saturday, Rob. Where do you think they got those skewers for the hotdogs and marshmallows at PPP? :)

Either wood coasters or mature shade trees?

From the pictures, it looks like the structure is steel, the sides have steel siding, the front is plywood, the roof trusses are wood and the roof surface I'm assuming to be steel. But, there's plenty of flammable items there. Even if the roof deck is steel, there are wood trusses and possibly an oil based waterproofing membrane on top.

As a side note, that station looks like total bunk. Can they not afford paint or sheets of plywood? They could have at least replaced the wood that was falling off and painted over the old "Bruce Wayne Foundation". It's really no surprise people didn't go to this park seeing the state of affairs there.

^^ Yeah, it looks like the station is- or was- made up of a little bit of everything. I remember the outside looking like crap last month, especially where the lettering was removed. Would it have cost that much for a few gallons of paint, CF?

^ Done indeed. That wasn't any fun to witness firsthand. Now comes another long winter. Oh well... I'm actually pretty happy for the Indians, all things considered. They have a great manager and some really good players and the whole organization shows a lot of class. Cleveland vs. Boston: GO TRIBE!

Why buy paint for something you know you'll be demolishing in 4 years? :)

Water is practically free. If anything, why not a good powerwashing?

Maybe they should've had one last generic super-hero event and just blown Dominator to Smithereens blasting Deep Purples Smoke on the Water.

Maybe they priced the powerwashing using the cost of their own bottled water. That would bankrupt Warren Buffet.

Cleveland has a good water system. I don't know why it's so inexpensive. Don't actually care either. It happens to also be one of the cleanest city water systems as well.

I was half-joking. Maybe that didn't come through very well.

Here in northern NJ, water is actually pretty expensiive and pretty lousy. Not a good combo.

Five people, three bathrooms, close to 5k square feet, $500 last quarter for sewer and water.

At least it's clean, it tastes good, and I have the water pressure of fire hose.

Wow. I have three toilets, but I don't go three times normal. :)
