Haha no I'm not giving Patrick the finger
If "they" ask, you never saw me. Which you really didn't, so it won't be that hard to say so. lol

What the hell are you talking about? I don't remember the last thing I deleted, or even what it was about. I'm sure the other mods would tell you the same thing. The community is self-policing. Do something stupid and people will jump on you for it, like they're doing now.The funny thing is, the whole, "CoasterBuzz mods are jerks that delete everything" theory is propagated by people that don't participate, don't visit the site, or themselves spend entirely too much time caring about such things. Boo freakin' hoo! *** Edited 12/2/2004 5:53:24 PM UTC by Jeff***
I never said the mods are jerks that delete everything. I'm just stating that some things are said to not be acceptable to post and may not be deleted persay but the topic gets locked. Then an admin or mod whatever ya want to be called posts something like this and it's ok. I think if you are gonna enforce rules they should be for everyone not just some.
Prime example, I posted the other day about CP announcing their new "frisbee". I'll admit i totally missed the topic in the news portion of the forum. But the post just turned up missing. No reasoning, no locked post, just a missing post. I'm playing the role of a "participant" here but, you mods need to learn how to play the role of a mod. Some of you guys seem to think you are perfect and can do no wrong and come down on everyone else that makes a little mistake. We know we aren't perfect and i know noone is perfect. So, why don't you get off your high horse and quit downing people for such little things. Let people point out your mistakes for once. So when you say you don't remember the last thing you deleted, i hope you remember deleting my post now because it was done.
I don't mind when people jump on me for doing something stupid. Tell me about my mistakes and i will try to correct them. But, when you act like i'm stupid i'll fire right back at you. You're not always right Jeff maybe you should sit back and admit that once and quit being so obnoxious. If you want to have the "perfect" site maybe you should have it an "invite only" site. That way you don't have people like me joining it;) I only stick around because some people have good insite on coasters and the amusement industry, and i enjoy reading about it. If i had to listen to you all the time Jeff, i wouldnt be here. Trust me, leaving would not hurt my feelings ;)
Have a nice day :)
Something about coaster buzz hiarchy I'm sure. I've noticed this trend a lot.
I agree with jeff and rookie. However, I do not know the whole story I'm sure. This website is one of the best for coaster talk, but it does seem like it's getting to be a little snobbish at some users. Also, some posters are getting a little board with the message board and are trying to spice it up a bit.
Maybe I'm wrong, I don't know the whole story. I pretty much use this site for entertianment and a way to unleash my wicked awesome cool humor.
Edit - Wasn't this just supposed to be a post to give a big hip hip horray for the gonch? Talk about raining down on your parade.
tear...
And actually I'm not a newer member, I've hung coaster buzz since I was 13 years old(5years, back when you didn't have o pay to post your track record. lol) I always have to get a new account because I forget my username or password a lot. I have noticed the downhill acceleration of being a "top dog".
I bet if the mods had a record of deleted or locked posts they would notice a sharp increase over the years, especially in the off-season. *** Edited 12/4/2004 12:10:18 PM UTC by juggernaut***
And Juggernaut-Whatever dude. I've never said anything to you, so stop trying to purposfully start something with me.
And you are crying me a river, all you've done is whine in this thread. Here's some cheese, its cheap, just like that whine. I'm sure you will enjoy it.
Why do you think that this thread should be deleted? Thats what I can't understand. The tread does not go against the TOS, its about the industry, and it pertains to a mod.
You're mad because you aren't included in what you preceive to be a clique, even though you keep saying you don't want to be in it. Right. If you don't like it here, I'm sure RRC, URC, Westcoaster, or many others will give you a chance as well. I've tried them all out, maybe they're for you. Perhaps CoasterBuzz isn't.
I don't recall saying (untill now) that there was a clique and i wanted to be a part of it anyhow. Also, i didn't think i said this post went against the TOS. I just want to know why this one made it and others like it did not? Other posts pertained to the industry just like this one may.
You say maybe coasterbuzz is not for me? I come in here because "some" people have inteligent things to say. I've said in my post that i don't have to be here. I could really care less. There are other informative web sites. You say i complain about the way things are ran but i'm still posting....well maybe thats because by speaking up about it someone might change some things and lighten up with their attitudes a little bit. Maybe thats asking too much from a site moderated by snobs.

Maybe you call it whining because you don't like whats being said and because it pertains to you. I hate to tell you this but i have my own site with my own people that i talk to. I don't need you or your clique. Trust me it's something i'm not interested in.
What he's really saying is "Whaa...Whaa...Whaa...You don't like what I'm saying so you accuse me of Whining. In reality, I am whining, but I'm trying to blame you for it. It dosen't really matter what I think, though, because I haven't made an inelligent post in this thread. I have my own site, but apparently its not interesting enough to keep me occupied, so I come here and act like I'm entitled to something because I have my own site. Whaa...Whaa...Whaa..."
I could care less if its directed to me. Just because we disagree doesn't mean you're automatically whining. But coming here and complaining about a post that was deleted pertaining to a ride announcemnet that has been put up in the news is whining. It has no relevance. I'm going to risk people being mad at me saying this, but I was informed that the reason the post was deleted was because of the link you had, and apparently it was decided to delete the post and put it in the news section. Hey, thats intelligent, it was news. Its in the news section. Yet you're upset because a post was deleted, and you aren't getting credit now. Boo-freakin-whoo!
I don't recall saying (untill now) that there was a clique and i wanted to be a part of it anyhow. Also, i didn't think i said this post went against the TOS. I just want to know why this one made it and others like it did not? Other posts pertained to the industry just like this one may.
What he really ment to say was:
"I was only implying that there was a clique, but now I'm coming out and saying that I think there is a clique. I dont' want you to think I want to be a part of it, but I'm going to complain about it since I'm not a part anyhow. My post pertained to the industry, and though it was moved to News, I'm not getting credit for the announcement now"
You didn't have to say there was a clique here. You implied it by saying that certain people get away with things and you think you should too. No one here got away with anything. I still don't see your problem with this post. You complain because 1 of your posts was deleted, but the information was moved to where it would be most useful.
I come here and post about a community local being mentioned on another site, and congratulate him, but you say it should be closed. It would have to violate the Terms of Service for that to happen, or be moved to news, but it dosen't violate anything, and (sorry Gonch), it isnt' really news worthy. Why you're still whining and complaining other than just to make noise is beyond me.

What he ment to say was:
"I come here because Jeff runs the best rollercoaster site on the net, and I like to come and try to be part of the forums, but apparently I haven't been around enough to learn the community ways yet. That sucks! I should be welcomed with open arms. I'm going to keep posting anyhow, just because I'm getting attention, though. I'm making noise about the snobs that I dont' like, but I'm still hanging around. I think that the n00bs will eventually take over, and we'll get our way."
If you think people on here are snobs, and you're so much the better than us, then mayhaps you should find another place to play. If we aren't going to accept you, and you've already come to terms with that, then why are you still here? Is it just to make noise? The site has been run this way for alot longer than you've been around, and people seem to like it. If you don't, we're not forcing you to stay.
End of lesson one. Gotta go to work here soon, but if you'd like more, then by all means, I'll have time when I get home from work tomorrow to instruct you evenfurther.

So you don't care, but you care enough to try to change things? Hmmm, I see.
Rookie ended with:Maybe thats asking too much from a site moderated by snobs.
Maybe. You wouldn't know though because we're clearly better than you. Nah nah nanny boo boo!
Sheesh, man. Get over it. If you have nothing to say except how much you hate the site, why wouldn't we bother deleting you posts. You said it yourself, we've deleted more relevant things. Don't be a troll.
You either want to be here or you don't. The fact that you care enough to try to change things (paraphrasing your words, not mine) sounds to me like you want to be here - if you truly didn't, you'd just quit posting and erase the all traces of the URL from your PC.
So get over whatever 'injustice' you feel occured, suck it up and enjoy yourself. Otherwise you're going to hate us 'snobs' a lot more when we keep deleting your off-topic, nonproductive whining.
Where's the mystery?

Sure...How about the only new post i've made in months. It pertained to CP's new frisbee. *Deleted* Thats only one. I've seen that others have their posts deleted that pertain to the industry also.
I haven't made many posts since i first got here and posted wrong then. Now that i try participating again stuff just gets shot down. You're right, i do like being here most of the time. But, a certain few make things pretty ugly in here. I like hearing what some have to say about the amusement industry. Some have intelligent things to say or should i say post about it. Thats why i gotta put my opinion in to maybe sway some things in a little better direction. I have my own site and i cannot tell you the last time anything was deleted out of there unless it was a mistake post. My site runs just fine with no problems. Just people state their opinions. Maybe i'm just trying to help where i shouldn't be i guess.
Maybe because there was already a discussion about it on the News page? Just a guess....
Rather than the confusion and mess of two seperate discussions in two areas of the site, the main page takes precedent and it becomes a news item. I don't see the problem - unless Tekno is right, you're just mad that you posted it before Jeff got it on the news page (and trust me, he knew about this one L-O-N-G before you posted it) and you're not getting some sort of imaginary "credit" for pointing it out first.
Hell, I've had posts deleted because they made more sense as news items. Now if I stumble onto something newsworthy (beyond the general discussion-type posts that populate the forums), I submit it to news. If you really wanted some sort of credit for noticing the announcement and passing the info along before anyone else had the chance, then submit it as a news item. Your screen name will be at the top (submitted by...) and everything. Then you can be the big popular guy.
Seriously though, what would you do to resolve it? Do you think your post should have stayed in the forum? If so, why is it any different if the same discussion takes place under a news item or under a thread you started? Honestly, that's not rhetorical - I want to know.
Regarding your site - what is it? (yes, I'm asking you to plug it right here) I'd like to see it.
But, I bet you'd be a little annoyed if I came over there and *****ed about all the noise I have to wade through or that I thought you needed more moderation because I don't like the way you do things. Basically reverse the situation. It'd sound a lot like I was whining, wouldn't it? I wouldn't in a million years come to your site and complain about how you run it and suggest you change things because I personally don't like the way it is. I'd sound like a complete tool.
Maybe i'm just trying to help where i shouldn't be i guess.
Maybe?
Thats why i gotta put my opinion in to maybe sway some things in a little better direction.
Better in your opinion. Things seem to run just fine here too...and you'll be hard pressed to find any forums that get equivalent traffic to this one, yet remain so organized an noise free.

I don't wanna be the "big popular guy" that gets the news first. I just want to get involved with some normal discussion or tell someone about something i heard. I don't need to have people jumping on me because i missed something. People miss things you know. In here if you make a mistake thats what you get is attitude. Some people in here just think they are the wisest people around and know more than everyone. So maybe this is not my site, and maybe it can't be ran my way. But, is it too much to ask for the mods to give some people respect?
Closed topic.
