Hey SpongeBob...You're opinion is warranted and welcome. That is why a "free version" of Coasterbuzz is available. I did not mean to offend anyone with the situation you described.

My post was directed directly at posts like Deja Vu's. If you feel it's a scam GET LOST.

I clicked in the $10 poll but hey ! I'll spend $20 bucks a year for discounts at amusement parks, and a banner free coasterbuzz.

The events won't all be in Ohio, trust me. That's just what we announced so far. Will we have events everywhere? As I said, not a chance, but we'll do our best to get them in as many places as possible.

Besides, keep in mind that you're also supporting the site. 38.4 cents a week seems pretty reasonable to me.

Regarding spreading the love, that love costs a grand every month. Perhaps $20 isn't worth it to people, and that's fine. I have no problem with that. However, to a lot of people, it is worth it, and they'll join.

There are small regional clubs that have one or two outings a year and put out a quarterly photocopied newsletter, and they even cost more. Our medium is the Internet, and every membership helps foster that community. As the community grows, so will our events.

Remember, if you're not interested, that's fine. I'm really OK with that, and I'm not hurt. Let the rest of us enjoy it, however, and look forward to all that the club will be offering this year!

Yay, welcome to Club CB :-)  I've been getting some previews of what was to come, it's great to see it come to fruition.

Ok I got one question. Are there different forums for the club or are they the same ones without ads?
I'm with ya too!

Ok, Jeff.  I would be interested in joining if the benefits were a little better.  You can't guarantee that ERT will be at some of the parks here in Cali, so what else is worth the 20 bucks?

I smell the same scam EZ board pulled on everyone who had comunities over there. But at least over here you get something for giving them your money.

Count me out! Gocc is fine for me...

If its only costing a grand a month then all you'll need is 60 members to pay for an entire year of service.  Yikes.  So if you get say 100 members that is 2000 bucks, where is that 800 dollars going to? Yes I do realize my math is very off. It has been a long day.

While I really would love to be able to participate in special ERTs and stuff I won't pay 20 bucks.  So I'll leave it at that and live my life as a free-bie.

The site alone costs $1,166 to run. That's almost $14,000 a year. That's 700 members... not 60.

As I said, I'm not offended if you don't want to join. That's your choice. However, when you start calling it a scam, that's defamatory and baseless.

The benefits are listed on the club page. Either you find it valuable, or you don't. If you're just looking for a way to get into ERT, then this is probably not the club for you.

And yes, we are considering some events in SoCal. Stay tuned...

And can you even guarantee the ERT at PKI?  Until I see it become official, I will still believe its a scam.

All at once the ghosts come back reeling you in now.
Sorry, I meant a month, got my math a little messed up.  Its been a long day.  But still, how much is the site normally making from ads?

14,000 a year-700 members/12months meaning if you get 60 members a month or say this month you end up getting like 100 then at an average of around 50 members a month for the biggest coaster site out there you are still going to make money.  Plus the money from the ads even if it is low that cuts some money back too.

And to make my math sound right.  If you get 60 members a month meaning 2,000 a month minus 1,166 equals 834 dollars.  Say one month you get only 10 member meanin you only make 200 dollars.  Then is that 834 dollars left over going to go towards making up that profit?

If you get a lot of members joining do you have plans on lowering the price?
