It was back to the fun I remember, and is anyone besides me sore from getting beat up by those two great rides for two full hours.
Thank you Koch's! You are the best, and I don't think any 'buzzers present yesterday would disagree. So many memories we have now, I can't even begin to start listing them all.
Thanks also to you Jeff for getting this event together with HW.
Did everyone behave and have fun doing so?
Will there be other events next year?
Chuck, anxious to hear more TR's and pics and thanks those who already have.
Oh, BTW, PTC's don't beat you up :) J/K
Did everyone behave and have fun doing so?
It would have been very hard not to!
^Hey you were the one that was sitting across from me in Kringles' Kafe.
Does any one know when the Podcast will be available? I'm looking forward to hear what they had to say since I got there a little late in the day. *** Edited 10/3/2005 2:42:11 AM UTC by BSBMX***
Finally, I hope that whoever walked away from the Legend station with my brand new Indiana Beach hooded sweatshirt enjoys it.

Chuck, who took there shirts and towels earlier this year.
J/K but check out there archives from about a or two ago. Is there a cloths thief at HW?

Holiday World
I loved how Mrs. Koch said, "See you in May!" at the dinner. Despite the great risks they were subjected to at SRM 2003 that probably threatened their very existence, they are still willing to open their arms wide to enthusiasts. God Bless Holiday World!
Never waiting more than one train for ERT all the while getting double and triple rides was astounding. The atmosphere and the employees were wonderful. It was great to be back again, and with such a great group of people.
I say we start the official bruise tally...I have 6 from Legend, I'm sure. Who knew waking up feeling like you had been hit by a bus was such an awesome thing :)?
Fun, fun times at the park and around the fire. What a great trip!

The weather couldn't have been better; both THE RAVEN and THE LEGEND are still top-notch and seemed to be just getting better and better with age. Everyone I was with spent the better part of ERT on THE LEGEND, which, for my money, still rockets through its paces with the best of them. THE RAVEN'S scenic journey through the woods and the skirting of the lake, as elements go, are second to none.
We all eagerly await THE VOYAGE and the excitment will only continue to grow throughout the winter.
My one niggling comment about the dinner was that we were a few minutes late getting into Kringle's (about 15 minutes) and by the time we got there, all of the pizza was gone. Which was no problem because they said there would be more coming along in a few minutes. About 30 minutes later, we got this pizza that was basically uncooked and raw; we ate it anyway and lived to regret it shortly after ERT. I had bragged to my friend about how great the pizza was at HW but I'm not sure that I'll ever be able to look at it again. The other through-the-years curiousity that happened AGAIN was what I call the FUDGE PACKING SCENARIO--the chocolate fudge was virtually nonexistent by the time we got to the dessert table. In fact, there was NO FUDGE at all to be had ANYWHERE!!!! Do people PACK IT AWAY IN POCKETS or HOARD IT FOR LATER RETRIEVAL???!!! I have been to about six (six) food-related events coaster events @ HW and have NEVER been able to score a piece of fudge. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to find out what it tastes like!!!
Which tells us a lot about our fellow enthusiasts--these are some hungry mofos. Get out of the way when that dinner bell is rang!!!!!
Woooooooooooooooooo Hooooooooooooooooooo!!!

It was heartwarming to see how happy Mrs. Koch was to have us there.
oh! I got a Legend flag from the auction!! Will and Pat Kock both signed it, but I couldn't find Paula to get her signature. Guess I'll have to bring it with me next year.
No picture can do the Voyage justice. Seeing that 90 degree banked turn had me thinking "what the Fxxxx were they thinking!" I was also there to hear the bit about the tunnel return to the station where they are installing windows so those in the queue can see the train rush through the tunnel "for a the excitement value".
Our final ride of the night was a triple ride on the Legend. The look on our webmaster's face when their train returned to the station when they were told they were going again was priceless. Glad to know I can outlast the youngsters on the Legend, although I sure felt it the next day.
Sorry to the Rob/nasai and a few others I missed saying goodbye to when I left the party for the trek back to my RV in the dark. Reminded me of stumbling home after beach parties in northern Michigan when I was a teenager. Rob, your wife is so sweet!! Glad to see she actually exists except on the board here.
Camp Rudolph is THE place to stay! The staff there was just as friendly as in the park. We even got a "tour" of the campground and the winning halloween decoration entries before being dropped off at our RV by the shuttle driver.
My only complaint is we live too far away to make as many trips as I'd like to.
I'd rather die living than live like I'm dead

Seriously though, I remember pulling in the station and seeing Linda holding up three fingers and my jaw hitting the floor.
I'm pretty sure we both needed to be reminded it was a family park on the ride up the lift. Such an awesome ride!
Extra bonus for us also. Our Queen guestroom at Santa's Lodge was being refurbished so we were upgraded to a Family Whirlpool Suite for the same price!
