CoasterBuzz Club Fall Affair 2005 at Holiday World!

I totally agree about Legend being more intense. The point of view that I never understood was that "Legend does everything that Raven does and then some." Legend has more laterals, but Raven has more air. At CAC, I found Tremors to be less intense than Legend, but others (who will be at HW on Saturday) feel the opposite is true, so I'm interested to see how our reviews match up this weekend. In my defense, I've never had a completely dark ride on Legend, but have had a midnight ride on Raven. Hopefully the shortened operating day won't detract too much from the coasters reaching their maximum late summer night speeds. :)

Matt,
it's all personal taste. Legend is a lot of fun, but it kicks my butt. I can't ride it for long. Raven I could ride all night long. (All night... all night long, all night, all night long, all night, all ni-i-ight, all night long, all night, all niiiight.)

Oh no Lionel Ritchey!!! Make it stop! Oh please God make it stop!

Hey Matt,

While I love The Legend it's still my #2 behind The Raven but just barely. To get The Legend try seat 1.2 on the left side especially after dark. ;-)

Have Fun

1.2 is the front seat, left side? or front car back row?

first car, second 'bench', left side of the bench.

Which in a PTC 2-bench train like Legend's it's the same as saying back row of the first car, but on some other coaster it's the middle row of the lead car. *** Edited 9/29/2005 2:59:08 AM UTC by ThemeDesigner***

Well, we only have a few days left to wait...but I am already having trouble getting to sleep!! The weather for the event could not be better...high's in upper 70's, sunny and low's in the 50's at night which will make camping after the event even better.
I am excited to meet many other coaster lovers and invite everyone to our campsite after the event (my wife and I). We will be there from Friday to Sunday. We just found out she is pregnant so she will not be riding any of the rides but will still join we for most of the day (on my own at night though!!).

Hope to meet many of you there.

Bruce

Now that's Gummo...
Who is all coming in on Friday? Anyone want to have a pre-event get together?

Paul,

we are having a pre-event get together Fri night... at SFKK!

well, some of us anyway. We won't be in Santa Claus until after midnight HW time. Y'all have fun without us.

BTW swindianarider, I also can't sleep. Just got out of bed because I can't stop thinking about the weekend. Pathetic.

What's everyone doing on Sunday? I was thinking about going to Kings Island. Wish I could join you for Friday's festivities, but I have to go another freakin' wedding (third one since June).

Depending on construction and traffic, I hope to be at the campground by 8 or 9 pm...HW is one hour behind Daylight Savings time, correct?

As much as I'd like to hit SFKK or PKI on the way back, I doubt that will be in the plan for us.

I'd rather die living than live like I'm dead

no, it's one hour behind Eastern daylight savings time.

HW is on the same time as Chicago right now, Linda...

I hate to revisit information that I'm sure was available earlier in the thread but, true to form, I have a friend who now wants to join me on the Voyage to HW this weekend.

Walk-up registration is OK? How much for that again?

Thanks for the info.

Soooooooooooooooooo looking forward to my old friends, THE RAVEN and THE LEGEND. . .

So what time is a good time to arrive at the park on Saturday? It says it opens at 10. Should I plan on being there a little early to check-in? Are we getting a final itinerary when we check in or are we meeting up at a certain place and time? If someone could please let me know what to expect I'd really appreciate it. My wife and I are Holiday World virgins and are pretty excited about the event. Thanks!

I'm wondering how late I can arrive. I don't think I can get there until 12:30-1-ish. Is this okay? Do I just go to the front window there at this time and get all the stuff I need, or do I have to go some where else?

Any word on how many company picnics/groups (if any) have scheduled for Saturday during the day by chance?

I would imagine you could go to guest relations, and they'll have your registration there, BUT I'm not in charge either.

You might want to PM Jeff on that one. I'm sure he'll post a final "what to do" note in this thread.

As I posted in the Meetings Calendar - my wife and I will be hitting PKI on Sunday.
I hear the park will be dead on Saturday so there should be plenty of rides for all. ;-)
