CoasterBuzz Club Fall Affair 2005 at Holiday World!

Drinking in the campground.

*Underage, will not comment*

I'll be in the campground at the party but I rarely drink...that is unless there's something good like Whiskey Sour, Irish Coffee or some good German Beer like EKU 28 or Tucher. If anyhting I'll have a long drive home (.5 mile) that night so I'm certain that I'll be completely sober. Also if anyone needs a designated driver to Santas Lodge I'm game.

Holiday World is a private company, they can do whatever they want in terms of who they let through the gate. I have nothing to do with it, unless you're on the park ban list that has floated around between various parks for serious safety infractions. (Yes, it still does exist.)

With about a week to go, we're somewhere around 110 registered, so given the usual last minute rush, we'll probably top out around 150, which is an awesome group size! We'll definitely have the "E" in ERT!

Barry, my friend and I are staying at Motel 6 (after partying at the campground) but I really doubt there are rooms left. The motels are few and far between in that area. Wouldn't hurt to check, though.

Three weeks to go! Yay! Can't wait to meet some of you/see some of you again.

In case you're wondering...yes, we will have Voyage t-shirts available the day of the event.

They look really nice!

Is there a big Turkey on the front?

Or a one armed pirate on the back?

Rob - loves pirates!!!

I doubt it Rob, but I'll bet it has pre-printed Gravy stains!

Wow!! Jeff--a park ban list!!!

I've never heard that discussed before but I always suspected that there might be something like that. I remember once years ago (circa 2001), I was @ Michigan's Adventure for TIMBERSFEST and a couple of guys had the lanyard cords (there's another name for them but I can't think of it off the top of my head) where they attached them to the lap bars for maximum air time and I said to them, "THOSE have got to be illegal. . ." and they just smiled and went on about their business.

The usage of those cords continued for a couple of years and I distinctly remember Will telling everyone at SRM '02 that he "didn't want to see anybody using those," anymore. . .

The fact that that speech, in essence a speech about safety and responsible riding, occurred about a year to the day prior to the HW tragedy has forever stuck in my mind. I've often thought what a profound effect that day has had in everyone's psyche and has, I would think, led to a New Era of responsible and safety-conscious riders.

Oddly, yet coincidentally, I've never seen the lanyards in use ever again.

BTW Rob, how can you like pirates??! Don't you know they're responsible for global warming>?!

Stick to animation, Brian. the number of pirates drop as the graph moves to the right. So, according to that graph, More pirates = cooler...less pirates = warmer

The greedy pirates are killing each other over their ale and treasure faster than they can be replaced by "newer, bigger, taller, and faster" pirates. Thus, the day after tomorrow may be sooner than later. ;)

I'm sorry, what I meant was that the REDUCTION in global Pirate population is the cause of Global Warming.
It's all very basic FSMism.

Blue? Whoa, blue. Blue! Hmm, blue... ...blue??? I think it will grow on me just like the name did.

Do you like the color?

Blue is my favorite ... and it's practical (just ask Martha Stewart). :)

Never knew Martha Stewart was an enthusiast...

I'd make some comment about spending time in a women's prison, but this isn't the time or place for that kind of nonsense... ;)

I'm just wondering how blue connects with the Thanksgiving season. It looks good though.

It appears that I'm going to be able to make it to this thing. It would be great to meet back up with the few of you that I've actually met before and to meet some other buzzers as well.

I do have a few quick questions about the camping though. I'm planning on flying solo and will most likely pass out in the car after all the drinking that appears will be going on. Will they allow you to sleep in your car? Will they allow me to park with someone else in their space?

Just trying to figure out how this is going to play out before I pull into Santa Claus.

Yeah is Good!
