Christian group says Disney no-fly zone interferes with free speech

Posted | Contributed by Jeff

The airspace above Walt Disney World has been free of aircraft since March, when the government said the resort was a terrorism target of symbolic value. But a Christian organization that wants to send banner-towing planes over the theme park during this week's Gay Days festivities thinks the no-fly zone equals no free speech.

Read more from The Tallahassee Democrat.

Kick the Sky: "Playa, just dont moon the park during Gay Days...."

Just don't count on making it as a comedian..

"(humor) ... but my GOD what happens to gay men's brains when you stick hundreds of them together? Is wearing pants so tight we can tell what religion you are theme park appropriate? Dry humping in the queue lines, and there was so much butt grabbing to be witnessed! ... (/humor)"

Now I know this was in the humor tags, but it still is a good thing to base my point on.

Maybe, just maybe, if gays could live their life just as a straight couple could, this condensed sexual behavior wouldn't be as blatent during the time when gays are safe from violence and discrimination.

And lastly, it makes me happy when I meet Christians like swimmerkev.

"I am a Christian. I think we should read the Bible, but not hit people in the face with it! (I have NEVER seen a paperback Bible.)Those Christians want freedom to express themselves, so why can't the homosexuals? It's unfair. A lot of parks have a cross imprint on their noses because the Christians whack them with the Bible. Why can't there be a pool of blood by Demon? Why can't we give a coaster a name that doesn't really mean anything bad (Banshee)? Why can't fellow humans express themselves?
Some go too far."

All I know is that this is a hard world to live in.

And to Jeff: I thank and respect you for posting this news, This educated discussion really helps me sort my opinions.

Reading every post has generated some thoughts inside me....

I for one was brought up as a christian. I used to go to church everyday when I was younger, but trailed off from doing that. I grew up with the whole "homosexuals are going to hell" type of outlook. I have never subscribed to that way of thinking. I do NOT believe that it is a sin for a person to have different sexual orientations aside from hetersexuality. It even has been scientifically proven that homosexuals are born that way. They compared brain scans of a heterosexual female with a homosexual male and the results were very similar. (something to do with the shape and size of a particular area) Every single time they tested this, it's come out the same way....

Also, have you ever sat down with someone and asked them if they chose their lifestyle or if they just naturally are attracted people of the same sex? I have. And it is VERY interesting. If you haven't, go do it.....

Now in college my viewpoints and religious background have changed dramatically... Yes, I do believe in a god. And what Jeff said earlier is something I can totally relate to..... "I believe in God, not a book, and firmly believe that "He," or more than likely "She," is actually the same being other major religions believe in..."

Another thought..... I know that there are many different versions of the bible.. King James is what really gets me... First, I did some research on paganism/wicca and the salem witch trials. Getting into some material, I learned that King James actually changed a bible verse from "thou shalt suffer a poisoner to live" to "thou shalt not suffer a witch to live". .. Later on, he accepted the pagans for who they were and came to an understanding. He then liifted his law of killing them but left the verse still in the bible. Who's to say that some editions could be tampered with if this is the case? Makes you go "hmmm" doesn't it?

Oh so much more intriguing thoughts, but another time....

Forward.......

How many of you look at a pentacle and think "Satanism!"? Any takers? I'm sure there are a few. Did you know that the pentacle does not symbolize satanism at all? It represents the wiccan/pagan beliefs of the earth and life. Satanist turned this symbol upside down and used it as their own symbol as the baffimet... Also, did you know that most satanists don't even believe in 'satan'? They have opposite views of the catholic church.

I for one don't believe in satan. I believe people use it as an excuse from their actions. "Satan made me kill this person!"... Bull crap.. I believe in positive and negative energies surround us and influence us... (such as you're around a happy person and it rubs off and vice versa with grumpy people).

Until another time my friends :D*** This post was edited by Coasterfreakbailes 6/9/2003 12:18:23 AM ***
