Celebration City is Open

Actually most of the entertainment down there anymore isn't too bad. True that there will be your "country" that only the the "pure" will like (which isn't me) but there are a lot of other fun things to do. I highly recommend the Showboat Branson Belle cruise. Also Yakov Smirnoff is a great show.

I rode the Wildcat with Yakov. He was with his family. His kids really loved the ride. Becasue Celebration City is closer to the show district, you have a much better chance of seeing the Branson Stars in the park.

The best thing to do around Kansas City is to go to Branson, MO and ride the Ozark Wildcat.

Was Yakov saying his slogan the whole time?

What a country that is?

I'll stop there guys, dont worry

P.S. For anyone interested, I did find a good deal on a short trip to Branson....3 days, 2 parks (SDC/CC), $59.

Yea, where did you find that? It sounds like a really good deal and that would probably be the only way I would make it up there this summer.

Am I really that shy?

You can buy the tickets at either the Celebration City or the Silver Dollar City Box Offices. You can also check out www.silverdollarcity.com

Even if you are being sarcastic I still wouldn't been surprised if Jim Stafford and his family was there too. Its not like the show stars don't have a life. They do go around Branson and do what normal people do.

That means I could see Soji Taboochi!

No puedo esperar para ir a CelebrationCity otra vez aunque. Quiero montar OzarkWildcat otra vez. Esto es una de mis todas montañas rusas de favorito de tiempo. Me invitaron a ir la magnífica magnífica apertura el 31 de mayo. ¡Entonces tomaré cuadros y compartiré con todo de usted!
Well I made my first trip to Celebration City today for a couple hours before the rains started in again. What can I say about my first Wood coaster..... WOW, very cool ride, I managed to get 3 laps in on it and loved each of them, I was hoping the weather would hold off until after dark so I could ride some more oh well. They were testing the Jack Rabbit while I was there, looks like it will be fun. I took a ride on the Thunderbolt and enjoyed the ride. I rode the Accelerator, I had it pictured in my mind to be taller then it actually was.The Orbitor and Fireball were fun too, they pulled a lot harder then I thought they would. Overall the park was pretty cool considering it has a ways to go before its done, one thing I didn't like was the street designs, I guess I am used to Silver Dollar City too much, it seems at SDC you can always make a circle back around to where you were or to somewhere else but at CC you seem to dead end and have to turn around and backtrack to go to another section, just a personal observation, its not like it kills the fun. SDC was busier today then I thought it would be, with all the rain I would have figured it would have been pretty dead, something that has always aggrevated me on Wildfire, somedays you see the singles line open and days like today its not, there is nothing sadder then seeing an empty seat leave the station!

CoasterBill, I thought Souji was from Japan. Why did you post in spanish?

Anyway there a chance you may see him out around Branson. As I said they are just normal people who do their own things around Branson.

Well I think that will be fixed next season. Phase II will connect the two areas via the parking lot by Wildcat, which will feature more park. And, yes I agree we are spoiled by SDC and I think a lot of us went in expecting that out of CC - thing is, SDC has had years to profect itself - CC will in time.

I'm too new to the coaster enthusiest thing to have hit everything with rails; what do you "experts" really think about coasters like Thunderbolt and Jackrabit? I was dissapointed when I saw them, but have no experience to go by.
Well, they aren't really their Marquee attractions. So they were not really built to impress someone. They just add a little more fun to the park.
And hey, maybe they'll take away a few hundred riders of WIldcat every day ;)

Well I rode Thunderbolt when it was known as Windstorm, and I must say it still doesn't impress me - it's just now cheaper to "re-ride". Jack Rabbit looks like it will be quite fun, I rode the Scandia Screamer out in California my last time out there and enjoyed that Miler coaster. It won't be "the coaster" of the park, but it will still be fun. I would imagine Wildcat will be the marquee attraction for awhile (as it is one of the few rides they actually show on the commerical - with exception of Star Wheel, Accelorator, and Fireball).

Oh and anyone else in the KC area notice that there are now commercials for CC, SDC, AND SFStL on the stations there (especially during the 10pm news) and there are none for WOF? I find that interesting.

Just in looking at everything (ridewise) except for Wildcat, it seems like everything there could be replaced someday, to me it had more the feel of going to a carnival, nothing seemed permanent (my opinion of course). Wildcat was cool though, my only complaint about it was the maze you had to go through to exit it to the photo booth, geez how long do you have to make it just to get back to the park!
The thing you have to remember though Dwane is they were going for that look. This is supposed to be a "roadside" park or a "boardwalk" park - that's what type of rides they have there. You should see the ones in South Cal - they have that feel as well. We're just spoiled by SDC, that's all.

Hey Guys, just got back from a weekend in Kansas City. No WoF though :(
Did I miss anything important really? I agree with you DH, that is what the park was going for when they built the park. Plus, think of how much improvement we can expect to see in the next few years. I mean, what we are seein in Celebration City was all done in just about a year! ;) It can only get better.
